Hey, I was told by an anonymous sexy-man that people aren't these parts are well versed in the art of buying computer parts online from reputable places.

Now that I'm at college and no longer am working at a computer store, I don't have easy access to cheap parts, and a friend of mine in North Carolina is having me build a computer for him, and I had good luck with www.newegg.com in the past, but they are screwing up my orders for all the parts so I'm needing to find a new place to get parts from that has good prices, good service, and low shipping prices (and is hopefully in CA so that shipping is fast for ground shipments).

Any suggestions?

[Edit]
Heres what I'm looking to put together... if it matters

AMD Athlon XP 1800+ Retail (for the fan and 3 year warranty)
MSI K7T266 Pro-2 or similar (Shuttle AK35G perhaps?)
2x256MB PC2100 DDR CL=2.5 Lifetime warranty (Crucial, Kingston, whatever)
60GB Maxtor or IBM 7200 RPM HDD
16X DVD-ROM (SONY, Pioneer, LG, but no Lite-On or Plextor)
16X or 24X CD-RW (Again, SONY, Pioneer, LG, or Teac, but no Lite-on or Plextor)
Geforce 3 Ti200 w/ TV-out
Enlight 7237 ATX w/ 300W AMD Approved
Sound Blaster Audigy OEM
10/100 PCI NIC

I've had good experiences with NewEgg. I have also ordered from www.googlegear.com and www.tigerdirect.com with equally good results. If I am looking for anything, I order from those three.

I actually just got an order today from NewEgg, it was a day later than I expeced, but I got what I ordered with no problems.

AGHHHHH GOOGLEGEAR NO!!!! I got screwed by them twice! They sent me two defective 1.4 Ghz Athlon CPUs and wanted a 50% restocking fee for the second one. I bought a new 1.2 Ghz chip locally. The company has a web site tho, www.hdnw.com, it's based in Bellevue WA so the shipping wouldn't be too bad but I guess it's too late.

Just never get anything from bzboyz.com or tufshop.com. And you might want to check www.resellerratings.com too.

I've had a friend order CPU's and MB's from Tufshop with no problem.

I LOVE www.newegg.com -- Googlegear I'm not too fond of. Had a problem with them once (not to mention the spam!).

MWave is good and reliable but their prices aren't great and shipping sometimes sucks (but not as bad as other places).

I probably order about $2000/year from Newegg.
