Kids found $80,000 and turned it over to police. They were told that if no one claimed it after 90 days it would be thiers.

Now police are saying it might have been part of a drug case and if so will be confiscated and a judge will decide what happens to the money.

In this case if I were the judge and it were in my power I would set up a trust fund for all the kids involved and give them the money to use towards college. The kids found it, the families were honest about it and even if the money was involved in a drug case, the kids who found it and turned it over were not involved in the drug part, so why not reward them and encourage them to get an education.

I'm pretty sure that's not legal. It isn't the state's position to decide what is in the childrens' best interest, the best they can do is turn it over to the parents and hope they do the right thing.

They should give it to me to put towards my hookers and drugs fund.

Gwy,

Nice to see you posting- miss you in game /hugs. I think the kids should get it, too. And while the judge maybe can't set up the trust - he can direct the parents to get back to him with their trust set up or whatever. There are many ways to skin the cat.

The kids should have that honesty rewarded, no doubt about it.
