He should not have pushed them to take the money. By refusing to take the money, they voided the debt.

I love it how they drag 9/11 into this. it's like, every time someone does something incredibly stupid, you just say, "oh, well, you know, 9/11..." and it somehow makes it right. that happened FOUR YEARS AGO, Americans don't have attention spans for longer than the duration of the next exciting episode of the OC. it's that type of thinking that makes me want to move to Canada for good.

though, I should say, this has happened before. I heard a story of someone who almost got arrested at Taco Bell for paying with $2 bills. Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/business/money/tacobell.asp) isn't sure that it's true, but since it's Taco Bell you can't expect much.

Maybe you remember the GeForce4 price fiasco Best Buy had a few years back. They arrested someone during that debacle. Between those stories and those from my friend who used to work for them, I'm never going to Best Buy again.
