During yesterday’s maintenance, upgrades were made to both the in-game client and to the hardware infrastructure. These changes caused extended downtime for some players.

In addition to providing a one-day time extension for players whose realms underwent extended maintenance, characters on all realms will be receiving a full rest state bonus. In order to apply this rest state bonus to all players, we will need to bring all realms down for approximately three hours, beginning at 3:00 AM PST, Thursday March 31.

I call BS.. complete shit that they reward people with rest state for the servers being down by taking the servers down again... I also saw another thread that stated there is nothing planned to compensate the level 60's who are getting nothing more then more downtime. Give me a month free.. plus pizza and beer for Booms

So, in order to give you a reward for the downtime, they're going to give you some downtime.

LOL, that is really dumb. I've been a total Blizzard fanboi and I've been defending them all along, but even I have to admit that this is really dumb.

Obviously, players are pissed off about downtime. So choosing to repay us for the downtime, in a manner that requires MORE downtime, is beyond retarded. It's Pat Benatarded. Give us free time, give us pizza, give us Tauren action figures... Hell, give us nothing but an apology and it would be ok, but don't give us something requiring more downtime. Downtime makes hulk angry.

Oh well, if my math is right, the servers will be down between 5am and 8am tomorrow morning for me (central time). I ain't gonna be playing anyway. And I didn't try to play last night because I was at the office till 10:30. So I guess I lucked out and missed all the downtime, but I get all the free time and rest state stuff. Yay me!

You got free time when it was our server that was hosed and yours ran :)

With the rest bonus I should be able to get 60 this weekend! :)

Kel'Thuzad was down for 3 days straight starting on a Friday, once...we only got 1 level's worth of rest exp.
