WoWmapview is a 3D map viewer for World of Warcraft. It uses the data files included with the game to display the 3D game world, which you can explore by flying anywhere. It allows access to off-limits developer areas and unfinished instance maps.

I would think Blizzard wouldn't like this at all. They want us to find new places by exploring in game, and they want us to have to fight all the mobs to see the high level areas.

I think its pretty cool though, I always wanted something like this for daoc and the WoW world is way bigger and cooler than the daoc world. I just wouldn't be too suprised if Blizzard was grumpy about this.

I used this for DAOC a long time ago. I even wrote some simple scripts just to play around with (in the early versions you could run around at like 20x normal speed and just see all the areas):
