Almost makes me wonder if a PvE server might be better and more DAoC'ish when Battlegrounds comes out. I can imagine there will be tons of gank squads just going to areas that they know will have opposite faction just to farm for kills.

So, the honor system isn't so much of an honor system. There is no dishonor penalty if two or three guys want to repeatedly kill a non-gray player, just reduced honor rewards. And there is no dishonor penalty if 10 guys want to run around killing solo non-gray players, just reduced honor rewards. Isn't that just like realm points?

On a pve server, the only place you can 'gank' is in the battlegrounds. You can't attack the enemy anywhere else. Battlegrounds are set up with realm goals that don't appear to be 'gank squad friendly'. It's set up more for teamplay/zerg warfare.

The reduction in honour points will keep people *cough Neorah* from farming characters from the other realm for points. If, like you say, a group of 10 want to repeatedly kill the same person, the honour points reduce until they hit zero. If that group wants to keep killing the same person, they're getting nothing out of it after the second or third kill. If they're running around killing the solo players, well that's the hell of being on a pvp server. They may actually be doing that if they're in the waiting line to get into the Battlegrounds. (That's when the guildies come in and we protect our lowbies :) )

They are tracking dishonourable kills and said in the notes that they will impliment penalties for them if they are unreasonably high.

They stated almost immendiately after release that there would be no "dishonor" points - it is way to easy to exploit - a group could just keep a lowby with them at all times - anyone that attacked them would probably end up killing lowby and get dinged

also a town raid could very effectively be stopped by nothing more than a whole mess of level 20s showing up.

i agree with them regarding dishonor and am glad it is not part of the system.

I do want more rewards for the honor point system but I expect it will get more robust as the game evolves

You only get dishonourable kills for attacking grey NPC's. They don't want to institute a penalty system as killing npc's is how to get other realms out to defend their towns.

Player characters will not give dh points. So gank grey people at will, and it'll be just like you're in DF again.

and yeah alli it's just like arr peees.

the good thing is that we actually have seen this in action (DF) and yes there are tards who gank -- but it actually works pretty good

and the armor you get for PvP rewards looks pretty bad ass, definately a reason to try to gain pvp ranks

yeah, was a smart move for me to not roll on a PvP Server. Iv seen it coming.

anyway, you can pvp on a PvE Server too outside of battlegrounds. there have been lots of raids going on as well as small scale pvp- the good thing is however that no one can grief at will. if you do /pvp or attack a guard/NPC its your own choice. ^^

I've never been ganked to the point I can't experience. It's an inconvenience, but it also puts some excitement into levelling.

I have absolutely no problem with this system. The way the game's mechanics are designed, someone who you con to isn't going to be able to simply 2 shot you. There's very little difference within 5 levels...now the whole gank zerg thing may suck, but hopefully we can put together some decent lions gank groups.

well, seeing how often I run into Horde these days I doubt it would be much fun for me. especially as a priest

Iam a shadow priest. but to do anything you need the momentum and against multiple opponents you have no chance eitherway.

shadow priest has one of the better chances against multiple attackers - fear plus dots on all of them, repeat or run away. and that life sucking lazer beam is deadly.
the last time i dueled with circe she killed me in about 20 seconds...

really. shammy should counter well. earthshock, grounding, tremor (i think, still dont understand that one), purge. earthbind. :)

and no i dont think i want to duel. ;)

fear is on a very high recast time and doesnt last long. wish Priests still had sleep. ;)

i think she might have mind controlled me, and used that shield thingy, all i remember is that i was dead before i knew it and she wasnt hurt much at all...

If all this is true about circe kicking ass and stuff I think its time for a DUEL!

I've been looking for a good challenge for a while.

(on another note, I think its good they are increasing mana cost for fear.. right now its next to nothing in cost, and lasts for 20 sec or until MAJOR Direct damage.. most dots arent breaking fear for me as is. So a balance of course was in order.)

(on yet another note.. I did some tests with Riddik last night.. with my 4 dots (2 insta cast, 1 with a 1.5 sec cast, and one 2 sec cast) lines cast on him with no other spells, melee or pet attacks I racked up 3183 dmg before the last one ran out.. 380 of which was taken from him and turned into hps for me. I just dotted and stood there)
