Audio tapes of a 1998 Bushie secretely recorded by Doug Wead were released. Pronounced "weed", Wead was an advisor to Bush Sr and is supposedly responsible for schooling little Bushie on how to exploit the Christian right in preperation for his 2000 candidacy.

The tapes show the real Bushie: a tolerant, peace-loving ex-hippie who has walked away from his party-crazed past to lead a cult of Jesus-freaks and other yuppies.
Lately I noticed a few odd Bush/Clinton moments lately:
1) at the Clinton Library grand opening, Clinton gave Bush a huge sofball, saying, "Am I the only one in America who thinks Kerry and Bush are both good people with differing views"
2) Bush picks Clinton to co-sponsor the Tsunami relief effort with his father Bush Sr
3) One of Bush's inner circle released a quote saying the Bushie was really fond of Clinton as a person.
There is only one thing we can conclude from this: Bush and Clinton are stoner buddies. Dude....Sweet....Dude.....Sweet.
What's the dilly-yo-yo?

So this may be associated with Bill Clintons taking on a new role in the UN as the point person for Tsunami relief effort.

Recently Jesse Helms pushed out a fund-raising letter warning his right wing friends not to allow Clinton to replace Koffi Annan as secretary general. Koffi resigns next year.

I heard the tapes and they sounded pretty good. He said he smoked weed but there's no way he would say he did to America because it's bad for kids. Which is 100% true, he doesn't need to tell people that, like Al Gore did. He also said he wouldn't fire a homosexual simply because he was gay because he isn't going to discriminate.

I think Bush will end up being one of those presidents that could have been a great leader, but surrounded himself with bad people.

I totally agree. But, a lot of people think his advisors are the shiznit, so I'm sure they'll disagree.
The quotes that have been released from these tapes confirm what I've always thought about Bush, he's basically a good guy. Ill-advised and too narrowly focused, if you ask me, but a good guy nonetheless.
One thing I thought was really funny on the tapes was a bit where he was talking about Forbes, calling him mean-spirited and then saying that if Forbes came after him he'd make him pay dearly, something about him being dead-in-the-water in Texas and Florida. And then talking about McCain, saying they may have to get rough with him like "the old man" did with Dukakis. Hahaha! Okay, who is mean-spirited again?
I had always attributed this administration's "annhilate anyone who dissents" policy to Karl Rove, but I guess President Bush is a full participant in that one.

Isn't it illegal for someone to secretly tape phone conversations? I always though you needed the other person's permisison to tape them.
I saw this guy on CNN, he said he's isn't doing this for money, it's just for historical purposes.
Ya, right.

As I recall, Texas is a one-party state, meaning that only one party has to have knowledge that they are being recorded, and that one party can be the one doing the recording.

Michigan is the same way... If one of the people being recorded know they are being recored and consent to it then it is legal.

The tapes also imply that he did LSD and Cocaine too. Now I know why sometimes he looks kinda cross-eyed.
"I don't want any kid doing what I tried to do 30 years ago. And I mean that," Bush said. "It doesn't matter if it's LSD, cocaine, pot -- any of those things." G W Bushie
