OMG!!! :rolly:
<edit> Actually, I have mixed feeling about this. When the first one was taken, there was a lot of complaining about "exploits" and "cheap tactics." My feeling at the time was, fair game. No one stopped chain mezzing when it was known that the ability to do so was coming to an end. No one has stopped casting through doors, either. On top of that, the tactic used to steal the relic was easy enough to guard against. Have someone check your keep doors occasionally. We did.
But I have to say, amidst all the controversy, and considering how important the relics are to the game, I don't think I would have stolen the 2nd one the same way. It just smells of poor sportsmanship. </edit>
Well, I might have agreed, except for the fact that since we took the first relic, but the mids and the albs have been attempting to use the stealth relic snagging tactic, nonstop. If all three realms are using the method, then in my mind it has become an accepted strategy. If mids and albs are going to continue to use that strategy, we put ourselves at a major disadvantage if we refuse to use it.
If we had taken the first relic, and mids and albs had just said it was lame and weak and that they wouldn't do it. Then I would agree that we shouldn't use the tactic again. But with them trying it again and again, I feel it was right for us to do it again. The fact that we have stopped mid efforts to use this tactic repeatedly, and the fact that we managed to do it again, proves that it is not an exploit, its a tactic that is very hard to execute and can be defended against. And it proves that we are better than them. :p
They knew it was possible and they ignore us. The second time it happened just proves how petty they are. Instead of protecting against it they just gripped.

not to mention the fact that the albs would have gotten it anyway if we hadn't got there.

After reading a lot post about the topic, it seems obvious to me that the mids are so consumed with playing offense that no one bothers watching their own keeps. They can complain about the first one and it seems some Hibs agree. But the second one?? They have no excuse for letting that one get away. In fact, it proved the point that it's not easy. It requires planning, and it requires someone to play freaking defense. Seems to me the Hibs have used some smarts to overcome the general weakness of the realm against the others.

like Dil said... We, in a way, saved the Mids.
Yes, saved them...
If we wouldn't have gotten there and defeated the army of Albs that were attempting to steal their relic, who knows what would have happened!
Then, of course, noticing how poorly guarded it was, we felt we could do a better job keeping it safe...

A factor about relic defence:
Mids/Albs: Both travel to teleport pod and go to invade Crunchy. They don't have to go by their relic keeps to do so. Not checked often.
Hibernia: Has to group up and travel through their realm to get to Crunchy. We go by our relic keeps. We can check the doors.
Of course, we are very diligent about our relics, and people have spent their time defending the keeps and watching the doors as opposed to levelling up or doing some RvR. Kudos to the people who do that. (Draethor comes to mind, and I know there's more.)
