newegg.com quick question

do they ship to Canada too? and if not it looks like its been registered with .ca so just wondering if any of the regular shoppers there has info on that

Mo said in another thread that they wouldnt ship to canada. I dont know why not, but their FAQ states:

If I had to guess, I'd say it probably has to do with it being very expensive (tax-wise) to do business across the border. The company I work for did a ton of research on being able to ship our product (high end canvas art products) into Canada. Bottom line was that it would end up costing 3x as much (not shipping, but in import/export).

There are also restrictions on transporting USA developed technologies out of the country.

Well, in general, I'd say 90% of what Newegg sells was likely developed in Japan, Thailand or Korea.

I don't think it's that. It's likely their deal with FedEx (they dont ship via any other method).

I'd be kinda surprised if it's FedEx. We switched to them as our exclusive provider when we started opening our International markets (Mexico and Hong Kong so far... Canada was not practical, as I said above).

UPS has no issues shipping across the border.

I just bought a 3-to-1 TOSlink optical switcher from up that way. No extra cost (compared to other vendors in the U.S.)
