I dunno, I just kill any horde that may represent a threat, i.e. anybody who isn't grey and is standing a little too close

i hit pyroblast yesterday for 1147. I still get one more rank of that but I'll never see a single hit of 2k (now if you include the extra pyro burn + 40% ignite burn from a crit maybe =)

In may just be luck but BB has been pretty gank free for me. It's around Tauren mills that seems to be KOS for all levels.

Wow ... what level was that guy?

Poor little guy, I have been killed by rouges in that exact same spot. Inside buildings = death for mages.

nice job thou

My best crit was on my Mage for 1350(ish) damage. Most of the time the crit stops around 1100.

10 levels is a huge difference though

Noleader how did you get a 1350 hit? You have AP? (max for L48 pyro with AP and no +dmg gear = 1278 ?)

otherwise:

1) using L60 pyroblast, max of 890*1.5 = 1335 ... just need a little damage gear
2) using L48 pyro, max of 631*1.5 = 947, would need a lot of damage gear

or are you counting in ignite damage?

I don't know about the math but I have had crits higher then 50% without any active abilites on.

I do well over 1000 a lot using the L48 Pyro without any active abilities on.

And no I am not counting the ignite damage.

spell crit is 50%, it's not like daoc where you get 10-50% crits (melee is 100%). With ignite's extra 40% burn we get (1.5*1.4 = 2.1) 210% of the original damage eventually.

I believe you, but them's the formulas

I've seen pyroblasts hit for like 1600 max.

My record 5p evisc is 2010 on a 60 priest, that's way above avg. though, even with a high min/max blade in main-hand. Guy must've had lousy or 0 durability armor on.

Highest dmg I've seen though is more than 3k. Was a warlock using a PvE only spell.

You say 2010 because it's just slightly higher than mine ;)

Wait until I'm 60!

I was using the lvl 48 Pryo last night and I was getting crits for 1100 a number of times... I am not sure where you saw the formula at but my toon is not following it.

you have full Fire Power? that would add an additional 10% to your base - so

631*1.1*1.5=1041. You don't have any +Fire damage or anything?

MickeyFinn

Is your math for against a mob of equal level Phal?

Noleader
01-30-2005, 07:44 PM
Just crited for 1051 on a mob 2 lvls higher then me.

I don't think I have any +fire skills...and yes Phal I am full fire spec.

BTW I don't think your math factors in mob resists... On Tar Mobs in the crater I can crit as high as 1400. They do not handle fire damage well though.

level doesn't matter for spells axe (except theortically through negaive resists).
negative resists MIGHT account for that.

MickeyFinn

Ah, I see!

spyder913

yup it's negative resists.. some monsters have extra low resists (like tar elementals in Un'Goro) and if warlocks use Curse of Elements you can hit for much more than the maximum. VERY cool =)
