Hi gang-

Me and Dilaree were at Dun Lamfhota tonight (that's the spear relic Keep) and decided to test what it takes to upgrade keep doors.

Using oak boards, we were able to upgrade both of the keep doors. The inner door is now a lvl 4 door, and the outer door is now a lvl 2. :) I was not able to repair the doors as we couldn't carry enough wood to do that and the doors NEED repairs!

The relic doors are both at lvl 4 right now. The max any door can reach is lvl 8.

I'd like to try and setup a little guild time and have people run lots of wood out to me while I upgrade and repair the doors so we can learn more about the process. Right now the repair part of this is the most important since we were unable to get it done tonight.

The forumla btw is 1 oak board = 8 units of wood.

Okie, okie, I said I would do it earlier but I will do it when I get home or take the notes with me to post this weekend...

I have this information.

Short version - the most cost effective method is using good old Rowan boards. You get more bang for your copper. But it also takes a CRAPLOAD of weight.

btw, until we get it figgured out what is up with high level doors/repairing, NEVER take a keep door above level 4. At level 4 it takes something like 445 ironwood to repair, I believe were the numbers...

I had a level 7 door at Crunchy one of the times we took it, and I had 664 STONEWOOD on me, and it said it was not enough...

So just to repeat - level 4 door is as high as we want to take ANY door. :)

More detailed info to come later.

Oh, I can say this from memory:

It is far far better to go from 1 > 2 > 3 then it is to go from 1 > 3, it's cheaper.

Rowan is 1 unit per board, .... thought I knew more, but I am suddenly unsure.

It takes 440 units to go from level 1 to level 2. It takes 960 units to go from level 2 to 3. I want to say 2200 units to go from 3 to 4.

If you can't physically carry all the wood (with some of the higher levels, I couldn't) you CAN drop the wood and accept the other wood from someone passing - just remember stuff on the ground degrades after 5 minutes, so hurry.

Again, I will check my notes and post the details I have later.

Okie. the promised info:

Wood - Units - Cost (copper)
Rowan - 1 - 75
Elm - 4 - 1200
Oak - 8 - 4800
Ironwood - 16 - 14400
Heartwood - 32 - 43200
Runewood - 48 - 86400
Stonewood - 60 - 129600

Each stack of 20 wood weighs 5 lbs, they can be joined into stacks of 100 weighing 25 lbs.

By doing a division on the above table, you can see that Rowan is the most cost effective, by a LOT, over the higher woods, but there is a huge weight differance.

I confirmed it takes 440 units to go from 1 to 2, 960 units to go from 2 to 3, and I have 2080 units written down for 3 to 4, but I think, I almost swear it's 2200...
