Something is wrong with my Internet

I dropped my IE in favor of mozilla and things went to hell, I was having some problems using IE before but things have gotten much worse now..

I'm constantly getting timed out, pages are loading extreemly slow, just a search on google takes like 30 seconds when before it was almost instant. I am on dial up but it's always been stable up until recently. what gives? I wonder if my modem took a crap on me or I got infected with something I don't know. I called tech support for MSN and they checked all my settings and they were right then told me I sould update my driver. I can't find a driver for this US Robotics voice PCI modem.

I ran diagnostic and the only line I seen that indicated something was wrong was a "Disconnet, Dropped by DTR" but no error messages. I don't know what DTR is, but I assume it's on the hosts side? I try two different dial in number in two different towns but it's the same thing, massivly slow and I time out all the time.

If things are REALLY slow, it could easily be spyware...

Give Housecall a try, then Ad-Aware PE

Considering all the lag problems you have been getting in WoW lately I don't think its a browser problem. Maybe your modem is mad at you or something. Running spybot and adaware and stuff can't hurt.

Ohh.. Dial-up... U.S. Robotics Modems are good hardware modems... it's possibly it could be going bad. :) If you have any static on the phone line that can cause some troubles.

I'd go with Roo's suggestions 1st.. if that doesn't help to try calling the tech support back and asking for 56k help.. :)

OK man, with the amount of time you spend playing online video games I think it's about time you stepped up to high speed. Don't give me the "well they dont offer high speed where I live" because that's not an excuse. If you live in such an ass backwards place that doesn't provide any sort of high speed internet then it's time to move. I understand it might be hard to pull yourself away from the sexin of your sister and cousins but take it from me, theres alot more out there. In fact, there's women out there who aren't related to you, I kid you not. You might even be able to have sex with one of them, but you should probably get your teeth fixed and work on that whole hygiene thing. The thing is, it's a little bit more work to get into the sack with one of these "non-related girls" because they aren't sleeping in the bed next to yours, like your sister.

I stopped by Wal-mart and picked up a cheap USR V.92 and holy crap what a difference
