Also, when I ended "iexplore.exe" in the process tree, the shortcuts on my desktop disappeared. I have a big problem here. I'm not smart enough to fix it, but I'm smart enough to know it's a big problem. The program "iexplore.exe" keeps restarting itself as well, even whe I dont have IE open.

Alot of times that ghey stuff will show in your add/remove programs, I had one that did things like that and I was able to uninstall it and was fine after that. Damn those pr0n sites..

How do I stop this stuff from installing? Every time I end the process the program restarts itself. I can't uninstall it, somehow it just shows back up. This is starting to really piss me off. THE MACHINES ARE TAKING OVER

don't click "yes" when you go to the pr0n sites!

Dont click ANYTHING when you do. Just close the window, use F4 if you can (make sure what you want to close has focus). A lot of them (spyware sites/popups) use trick windows, where things LOOK really good, but aren't what they seem.
Use Firefox.
Get XP Service Pack 2.

Well, you did ask "How do I stop this stuff from installing?" ...
Use Housecall first to kill any trojans that are reinstalling the spyware (see banner up top).
Use Ad-aware, Spybot, and post a HiJackThis log and I'll take a look at it.

HouseCall has four 242 infected files, and counting

OMG, that's just ugly.
axe, you prolly got infected with a drop virus (i believe that's what they are called). What it does is it drops a "bomb" on your system which installs about 20 different spyware programs onto your system.
Like roo said, run spybot or adware, then update dat files for your virus scanner and run virus scan on your system as well. when your system is clean, open ie | click on tools | internet options | programs tab | click on reset web settings. this basically resets your ie settings.
I'm surprised you're even able to play WoW with all that crap on your system. good luck.

Not THAT well, unfortunately. They're getting around that on a daily basis now :(
