I voted life, which is why I will never be put on a Jury that hears a case eligible for the death sentence. Though I personally would love to see him fry for what he did, I also think there are some serious flaws in our judicial system that leads to a disproportionate number of black men being given death sentences as well as the recent innocent people who have been exonerated through DNA evidence. Until we can fix the flaws I can not support the death sentence.

I also believe that we should have a higher standard of evidence when instituting a death sentence. I feel that no case based on circumstantial evidence should be eligible for a death sentence. I would need physical evidence to sentence any person to death because beyond a reasonable doubt does not always mean the person did it.

So should we have a quota system that puts to death a proportionate number of other races so that it represents the population percentages?

Not at all, I would not support that in any way shape or form. However we do need to take some of the bias out of the system that have lead to some of the problems. Truth is there are still a lot of us who are prejudiced and are just more willing to put a black man to death than some nice clean cut white guy. I think requiring a higher evedentuary standard to qualify as a death case would help. Additionally there needs to be something in place that qualifies a person who commited a death penalty type of crime for a higher level of defense. Those two things would go a long way in fixing some of the problems.

Ahhh.. People you get the death sentence dont even get it carried out for years upon years then they get parolled...
I would like to see the flaws removed from the death penalty system too. The fact that DNA evidence has recently taken some people off death row freaks me out. I don't want any innocent people getting fryed. And the fact that minorities get the death penalty a disproportionate amount is troubling, the bias needs to be removed from the system somehow (and no, a quota would not be a good idea at all).
But I want this guy fried. He so did it. There is no reasonable doubt in my mind. There isn't even an UNreasonable doubt. He killed his very pregnant wife and dumped her in the water at Christmastime. And even as someone who is pro-choice, I think this counts as a double murder since she was like 9 months pregnant or something. The guy is a monster.

Well, how do you remove prejujice from the system? Is that even possible?

Scott Peterson is white. FRY WHITIE!!! BURN THAT CRACKA!!! cracka ass cracka.
I am not sure if there is an answer Roscoe. The problem is that lots of Americans are racist and get put on juries, there is no way to change the death penalty system to fix it. The problem isn't with the death penalty system, the problem is racism in our society. Maybe the only solution is to put the death penalty on hold till our society matures and racism isn't so rampant. I mean, I know America has lots of race issues, but I think its getting better, not worse. Racism now is nowhere near as bad as it was 50 years ago. Maybe in another 50 years racism will be so much lower in our society that we can have a death penalty and we won't be sending an unbalanced amount of minorities to the chair.
The only thing is, I hate my own solution here. I don't want to wait 50 years before we can start using the death penalty. There are people who really deserve it today, like Scott Peterson.
Sometimes we just have to acknowledge that something is a problem, even if we don't know how to fix it. Its a problem that a black murderer has a much higher percentage chance of getting the death penalty than a white murderer. Just because I don't know how to fix the problem doesn't mean that we should pretend it isn't a problem.

The guy is a monster.
What does he drop? I hear infamous named monsters drop pretty good loot. I'm for killing him.
Is he part of some quest?

I was once called to jury duty. For some reason they decided to call the jurors that by by reverse order, I was A32, but that day they started with E and worked back to A.
Because of that, I missed a capital crime case where a man molested and killed a young boy. That would have been one case that would have been hard to deal with, children getting hurt always bothered me. :(
