i'm now totally useless in RvR

from camelot herald on 1.43 on Pendragon

- The bug where players could fire spells and arrows through doors has been fixed.

- The bug where players could cast certain spell (such as buffs and ressurections) through walls has been fixed.

I understand how you feel, but you gotta realize, that was a HUGE bug.

Just exploited on both sides.

What I think needs to be done/tweaked/fixed to correct this is the ramparts need to work like they do in RL.

Instead of firing from the complete safety of thru a door, you fire from the reletive saftey of an arrow slit or rampart. Use a fort like a fort should be used.

However, some serious line-of-sight issues come into play.

And, this will likely not be detected/corrected immediately, because there just simply is not enough folk doing RvR on Pendragon (even if they had all the players doing RvR, they wouldn't have 1/4th the scale of a large battle on our small server) so what will likely happen is this will go live, you will (sorry) be useless for a patch or two.... or we will find differant ways of doing things.

Sucks, short term, but I think long term, this was a fix in the right direction.

Cobey, you can blast them from upstairs on the wall and I'll stand back and heal you. Nothing else I can really do in keep defense. My poison and roots dont have the range of your blasts.

Who the heck designs a keep so that your archers and spellblasters can't see the guys bashing your door down? Its kind of silly that once the enemy gets to the door they are in a little safety zone. And once they got the first door down they are totally safe. If I designed those forts there would be some sort of windows or something looking into that space between the two doors and you would be able to drop suff on their heads from above.

yeah i just find that very retarded.... i mean first... bolts are not going to hit.. and when i'm up on those thingies i can't shoot a damn thing... and usually archers who outrange me take me out and no heal will prevent that death...

but i see your point babs... i'd much rather have fights and battles be outside the keep... potentially it can lead to some more tactical fighting... but... they need to put windows or make things more viewable so ppl inside can target those doors before they make that change because they fix one bug and make an entirely new bug... how many ppl you gonna need to defend a fort if this thing goes through?

We don't care if you are naked, long as you are dishing out those yummy heals.

A good percentage of what I do in RvR is healing and rezing. When I rez people they have like 1% health and power, you have that next rez that starts them with 25% or 1/3rd or whatever it is. And your heals are already a bit better than mine. If you show up in RvR, you wouldn't be the annoying grey con that we have to babysit, you would be pretty darn helpful.

I used to feel a little guilty cuz I'm holding off a bit on boosting my regrowth spec, but we got a Retardape so Fae is fine in the healing department. :D

Alli, you get us from hear to there with superspeed! Something helpful in RvR.

They meant it when they said level 15 you cuold start RvR - you can.

You just won't be bashing it out with the other players, you will be a support personnel. Sure, you can't rez the high level ppl, but you can still heal!

For the tanks, (its boring as hell, trust me, but needed) if you have woodworking skills, you can repair/upgrade doors. You can scout, you can (and will, oh my will you) die, and add to the targets.
