anyone catch the discovery channel show on FDR and how he lead America into world war 2? Had lots of great commentators including Bill Clinton and Walter Cronkite. It was really very good.

I learn a few things, and admire greatly his vision and foresight. Basically he understood the longer term problems with nazis and began preparing America for the war long long before we entered it. Alot of what he did was underhanded and nearly illegal, and he often pretty much lied to Americans because he had too convince them of the rightness of the war while assuring that he was not trying to get involved... A very fine line walked by a very great man. I do not like all the things he did, such as the now permanent income tax, but have great amounts of respect for him.

In many cases he abused the Office of the President but he did bring America out of the worst depression in our history with no lasting effects... He earned in place in history.

Go watch a slow motion of Roger Clemens pitch, or any other great picther for that matter and they will strike that exact same, or similar, pose at some point in there delivery. That is in fact a very good position to be in when pitching a ball. He looks like he knows what he is doing, you would know this if you knew anything about baseball. Very good form Bush, nice work.

I disagree. It doen't look like there's much motion throughout his body beyond his arm (which is bad). Good pitching involves stretched legs for the push, and the chest is rarely squared off to the home plate until the ball is even to the rest of the body. I'd like a link to a pic of Roger Clemens doing the same.

because the basic things to throwing a ball are throwing overhand, keeping your elbow up, and pointing to where you want to throw with your left foot(if you're right handed) and those basic things are all done. That is a text book way to throw a baseball, children could learn from it.

That is not the textbook method of pitching a baseball, though. And if he's just tossing the ball and not pitching it, that just kinda adds to the original judgment of a Nancy anyway.

That is the textbook method of throwing a baseball and in fact is nothing like throwing like a girl. A girl pushes the ball. A girl doesn't reach back and throw over the top. That is what is meant by "throwing like a girl", when you push the ball instead of throw it. You throw the ball by reaching back and throwing over the top with your elbow up and point at the target you wish to throw to with your left foot(right handers only). If you take still shots of any major leaguer throwing the ball you will find them in goofy positions at times and alot of them do not throw like they are supposed to, but thats fine they are major leaguers they can throw by whatever works for them. When you teach a kid to throw you teach them to reach back, throw over the top, elbow up, point at the target with your left foot(right handers only) and thats the basic steps taken in order to throw a baseball.

Actually, you're supposed to keep your elbow even to your shoulder (ie, your forearm parallel to the ground). But he's throwing like you see the girls do in softball. I'll look for pics.

You are confusing Kerry with Clinton.

Bush is throwing like Sandy Cofax used to. There's a reason nobody else does this anymore. The body is supposed to be using the front leg as a pivot, like a teeter totter. The back lag is supposed to be thrusting off of the mound for extra horizontal force, and the left arm (for a right handed guy) is supposed to be driving downward to augment it.

Bush is doing some of these things.... But never, EVER open your body up to the batter. Your left arm should almost be able to touch your right leg before you let go of the ball.

The funniest thing is for how much shit we all talk, including myself, most of us would have trouble at their ages getting throwing the ball properly along with still getting it on target.
