Looks like there is going to be a lockout in the NHL, is Hockey as we know it dead?

Yes, the fan base was small as is and the players felt like they should get more money when there wasn't any more money to be had. It has consistantly gotten shitty ratings throughout hockey playoffs and regular seasons. The majority of the nation(well, US) really doesn't care if the strike ends. It was a bad move by the players to do this, they were already getting paid more than what they were worth and they had a problem with a salary cap. There will be hockey again, but probably a different league or something and still most people won't be interested.

I forgot my town had a team still until I saw a news clip that they made it to the playoffs last year...lucky bastards even won the cup, hehe.
