I put this in thread about the new LoL Guild, but I want to make sure someone sees it. Some of these are tongue in cheek, but I do have some real questions mixed in.
So now I'm a level 3 Elf Magician, but I have a few questions:
1. Who is that frog and why did he kick my ass?
2. Where in the HELL am I going to find 4 ratboys to kill and take to that bitch who lives in that friggin' shack down by the river? I see Feccans out the wazoo, but not ONE ratboy.
3. Boomy kept talking about pulling those monsters at the Parth Farm. How do you do that? Or is it a special skill reserved for huge, big-headed characters with shields.
4. Why do stable masters mostly sell tickets to places I don't want to go?
5. Why does it tell me that I can't use armor or weapons every time I try to buy something. Does that just come later or are the bastage merchants of Hibernia trying to keep a brother down?
6. Are there special things I need to do to increase my "training" and get more spells and stuff, or does that just naturally progress with the leveling process?
The main one I need an answer to SOON is 2. I need to kill me some ratboys quick. :)

I think I can help ya out here.
1. Conspiracy against you.
2. I have them all locked away till I get the ransom.
3. Conspiracy against you.
4. It's so you'll pay us Bards to take you somewhere instead of thier slow horses.
5. The shop keepers know you'll get in trouble is they sell to you.
6. Conspiracy against you.
Hope that pretty well solves it for you. :D
Okay now for the version I was supposed to tell you.
1. Not sure what frog your talking about did he actualy have a name or just a frog?
2. You can find some rat boys just a little south and west of Mag Mell
3. "Pulling" is just a term used to decribe hitting a monster (usually at range) and bringing it back to the party to be destroyed. No anyone can pull but some classes are better at doing it then others.
4. Because each one only has a certain path programmed for them. Ussually you by a ticket in the direction you want to go then jump off at the place you want.
5. It's more of a saftey mesure making sure you want to buy something you can't use so you don't spend that hard earned cash on something you thought you could use.
6. It works both ways. You get some spells from leveling (base line spells) and some from specializing (spending training points to raise spell line level). Just a bit of advice don't spend any points till 5th when you select your career. More options will be available to you then.

hehe, lemme take a thwack at these. :)
1) Because, Grasshopper, that Frog is too big for you. :) Level 3 is like a kindegartner, still... quite weak, and don't know what direction you are going to go.
2) To answer that I would ask where are you? I started in Howth, and I have seen them south of there toward Connla, in the hills (wiped me out when I did that back then), also seen them in the small forest south of Ardagh... They are newbie monsters, so they will be around the newbie starting cities. Howth, Ardagh, Connla, Ardee, whereever you got that quest, etc, etc.
3) Pulling is a special skill for Rangers only... Rangers rule the world.
Nah, it's just a term meaning "Get that mob" rather then "That mob got us". Basically taunting them into your ambush. :)
4) Think of it this way... You are in North Carolina, but wanna visit me out in the middle of no where Iowa... well... you might need to take a couple differant buses (horses) and maybe do some walking (or something) to get to the small town once you get to a major dropoff point.
And, you are level 3... you shouldn't need a horse for some time, unless you are going to meet up with others and get a couple levels under your belt. :)
5) Well, this is a multipart answer... 1, you are level 3... you don't get a LOT of your abilities till level 5+... sometimes level 10, 15, or even 20. 2, you are a mage... most weapons are gonna be unusable to you, and almost all armors will be. Welcome to spellcaster land. :)
6) In general, the higher you go, the more things that you can access, and the more things you have that you need to put points into to access more spells. :)
Get out there and level! hehe. Need any help, find me in game. I got a lowbie around that level we can hook up and do some damage. :)

Thanks for the info, folks. That first night of playing was funny as hell and I felt like I had a thousand stupid questions, but it is getting better now. I'm definitely off to find those ratboys when I play tonight. :)

Hehe, Ratboys are melee bait, not for casters, you prolly gonna get cracked again by em. Try the orchard nippers and/or water beetles instead.
Finally UT people playing Hibernia! Me and my bro are on Palomeides/Hibernia for a few weeks now, got me a 21st Eld/15th Ranger, he's got a 20th Eld/40th Hero (gg lack of sleep :p)
Anyways, if anyone needs help or has characters on Palomeides, do say hi to Xayd, Nooch, Snoogens, or Deudalus :D.

Thanks again for all the answers on this. Thought I would give a quick update. After finding some Ratboys based on everyone's advice and taking many a Ratboy ass-whipping, I realized that I needed to concentrate on things like Skeletons and stuff. Once I made 4 last night (really only my second night playing), those bastage Ratboys weren't laughing anymore. As those on-line last night will attest, I started kicking Ratboy booty in short order. I felt like a GOD! :)
This stuff is a lot of fun and I look forward to actually having something cool to brag about like going to the Cliffs of MooHoo or such.

What about travelling to Midgard and whooping some Troll/Kobold booty? (I prefer the Trolls, Brayl likes Kobolds :fuct: )
That's always fun. Let us know if you need any more help... :)

I feel like the hobbits in Fellowship of the Ring. I've never even been out of The Shire yet. :) The DAoC Shire for me is Ardee/Mag Mell/Tir na Whatever. I have no idea how to leave the realm and am frankly afraid to consider such foolishness. ;)

Jammer both Malfizar and Jobius went out to the frontier at Level 11 and got they're first realm points. :) Granted it was extremley dangerous since anything out there could kill them both in one shot. If you want some heartbeating, adrenaline rushing action just hook up with us sometime when we head out. We're really protective of the "little ones" when they come out with us. If anything, you can say you've been "Out of the Shire." Just remember that river can sweep you away quick. :cheese:

In the next week or so, I'm definitely going to be up for a trip outside. I'm taking it slowly with work and other RL responsibilities, but I made 5 last night and need to come to terms with what that means to my future (I understand it is a big milestone of some sort.) Anyway, thanks for the invite and I will definitely take you guys up on it sometime.
