That's why I was late for the match.
He has a bad leg, so we took him in to get it looked at. Our vet wanted to take an x-ray to make sure it wasn't broken or fractured as it was pretty swollen, and he's been running around like a tripod the last two days.
It just so happens they have a new x-ray machine, and thought they'd play around on it a bit, and x-ray'ed his stomach.
Well, sure enough, they find it's extremely bloated with gas, and is about 4 times its normal size. This is very dangerous for a dog as the stomach can easily twist, it pressures out the main circulation artery, and a whole bunch of more nasty stuff. We were told to take him to the emergency clinic right away. It's actually called 'Bloat'.
We had him admitted, and they were going to have to slice him right open, let out the gas, untwist his stomach if needed and a whole crapload of stuff when they were in there :(
Well, we paid a huge chunk of cash and had him admitted. About 3 hours later, they had taken their own x-rays to make sure they knew what they were going to have to do. Well, by then the gas had passed into his intestines. They called me up, and told me I could come get him. :D
I swear that on the way home, it smelled like he took a dump in my 4x4 from all the gas he was passing.
He's still got a sore leg, which isn't broken, and a shaved paw from where they were prepping him with an IV. Other'n that, I'm happy he's home. :)
