Crazy melee ranger idea...and a request

ok, i typed out this 5 mins ago and this stupid thing lost it...so ill be briefer this time. Got checking the Vn stalker boards, and the idea of an assassin hunter appealed to me(since there are a million infils and such floating around these days. So i got on the character builder and did this.....

50 Pierce
40 CD
1 Bow
36 Path
20 Stealth

or reverse stealth and bow, whatever

Now, my thoughts are that with 50 pierce and 40 CD, id hit a lot, and with both hands often. Path at 36 gets me dmg add and speed, and 20 stealth, well, who cares, prolly better at 1 stealth(bait em with it) and 20 bow. Key to this would be MoS as high as possible...like 3 min, and 5 eventually. I do realize Stealther hunters work better in the BG's, but whats yer all thoughts?

Oh, the request? Who has a career respec to sell me incase i actually do this and hate/gimp him badly? :p

I would have to agree with wolf... My ranger has high pierce CD spec and I still can not stand toe to toe with a inf (he also has 2000 HP buffed). With assassin evade rate and inf dmg table you will find yourself out classes every time. Only good stealth class to go after a inf is assassin classes.

I would go slash and do Battler with Malice. Your weaponskill would be higher with pierce, but the procs on Battler and Malice are amazing enough to make up for it.

But I wouldn't bother to do it. It sounds good in theory, but how often do you find a solo infil? No matter what your spec is, you aren't ever going to win in melee against an infil, because of the mini right behind him insta-stunning you and the 2 scouts behind him plunking arrows into you.

Also, even with a pure melee spec, infils will still be better meleers. With IP3 you might be able to win a 1on1 against an infil, but thats a ton of RA points to spend just for that 1on1 which will never happen.

I had purge/IP on my ranger. If they were up I could win vs an inf. If not, no way.

There are no 1v1's in the stealth game. They are extremely rare. You will never find a solo alb stealther.

Gotta excuse this, but it just dawned on me why if you look at the Camelot "Champions of the week" list, you see 99% Mids and Albs...

We as Hibs go out as solo all the time and the posts before this one state the obvious, ALBS DON'T GO OUT ALONE. Seems the right idea here is not spec a character to do it alone but make it the way you like to play and GROUP UP! Hibs have the wrong idea to try to do stuff alone, thats prolly why we get owned most of the time...plus Mythic hates us!:p

I have to disagree with making a char just to be able to do that 1 vs 1 that might ocurr once or twice a month. I have a NS and the best fun is to use the bait technique in the BGs...love watching them think they have the upper hand and then another NS pops their ass!!!!:owned:
