This is what I wanna do.

Get a second box with new supah dupah cpu and rams and vidcard and stuff.

Use old box for Stickybuffs. I got a router and stuff.

I wanna have some kind of switch so both boxes are hooked up to the same monitor. When I want to buff, I hit the switch and the monitor displays stickybuffs. I use the keyboard and mouse hooked up to the old box and do my buffs and stuff. Then I hit the switch and I'm looking at Boooms (or Bewm or whatever) and start fighting.

Basically I just don't have the room for another monitor, but running 2 toons on one comp is kinda suxxy and I'm wanting to upgrade so much of my comp it just pays to buy/build a new one.

So whatcha all think?

It's called a KVM, and they're pretty cheap for 2 box ones

wow even cheaper than I thought, I may have to get one =)

Just becareful... cheap ones often don't support high refresh rates (ie, over 60Hz). Low refresh can hurt the eyes.

The unit supports high-quality video resolution of up to 2048x1536@65Hz

All the Belkin's KVMs I've used have been nice.

Whoh! I can use the same keyboard mouse and monitor for both boxes! Schweet!

Time to seriously look into the new box now :) I'll probably build rather than buy to save some cash, but that's for a whole new thread.

Thanks for the info guys!!!

Spyder, a lot I've seen can support high res's... but not great refresh rates. That's what I'm saying 65Hz is still crappy.

I dunno what other res/rates it supports, that's just the max size.

Usually it will do fine with lower res but higher rate.

(I use 1800x1600@60Hz =P)

Shell out for a Sony/Dell Trinitron 21" flatscreen :)

If I could run 8 toons at once, I would make them all rangers and have them all assist and critshot at the same instant. That would kill anything.

How much is the Flatscreen dealio thumos? Maybe I should get one of those and get rid of my big huge taking up all the room monitor.

And what is a DB9?

Thats how I run my bot booms... I have a KVM switch that is controlled by the Scroll Lock key.

the problem with a 2 input monitor is that you still have 2 keyboards and mice. I have this going on myself, and it's a pain usually.

DB9 = standard vga cable

I like the Linksys KVM.

I use this one also, very stable. Its hotkey is Scroll Lock twice.

If you had 8 boxes you'd have to change your char name to Brey :p
