Just make shure you are not downloading the DAOC kockoff of the game, it's City of Spearos. You make Firbolg Spear hero's and have to fight mobs that are pierce resistant.

They gave archers slash arrows, spearos should get a damage choice :X

A Spero can gp 50 Spear 50 LW and rest parry and choose his damage style!

archers had pierce, slash, and crush arrows since the beginning of the game, they were just not all FFB's.

heros do get their choice of damage - pierce (spear, pierce), crush (LW, hammer) or slash (LW, sword)

That's better than wardens ;)

I hate the arrow choices, too much to worry about. I just get a bunch of all three kinds, put them in my quiver randomly and hope for the best.
