The more I think it plain sucks.

Let me explain:

DAoC is a MMORPG right? And the MM stand for Massively Multiplayer?

Then why in the HELL do I have to solo my Artifact ring instead of hanging out in a group of friends having fun?

I mean, I know I am still in my grind to 50, so I still need to XP, but no way I would choose to solo in Fomor night after night after night after night............... :bang:

/rant off :fuct:

Hmmmm, Brey, you do realize that the Ring of Dances doesnt require you to be solo, right? It just requires you to kill mobs in the SI dungeons (group or ungrouped). I'm sure you know that since you and Nukor usually group up, both playing 2 accounts. Its hard for me to see how that is soloing. Try my method and I think youll appreciate your pain. :P

Now, stop your crying and get to 50!!!! ;)

OK - So perhaps solo'ing isn't quite right.....

Let's examine the dungeon however and just exactly how you gain experience with the ring, and how much experience with the ring... Compare solo kills to group kills for example.

If I solo 3-4 mobs, I get 1% xp on the ring. If I am grouped with one other person, that number goes up (the up part is obvious, what's not obvious is the %) to 8-10 mobs - More than double, yet the group only doubled.

Now, add into the mix that when Nukor and I group up, we also add in the Bard and Druid bots. Now if we add Nukor, it's a group of 5. The benefit there is that we will be able to base buff and spec buff some people who refuse (**cough** nonames **cough) to get a bot based solely on the fact that they don't think it right that the game should revolve around bots. (Which, while I agree with the philosophy, I tend to go with the idea that I like a level playing field and don't want to be gimped in every fight I have)

The dungeon itself actually sucks for experience compared to many of the places in the game and that fact is compounded if you try and add more people to the group. So - While I am technically not solo since there are 5 toons in the group, they are run by two people who can't partake in any guild outings and level the ring at the same time. THAT's what I am aluding to when I say solo. Basically I log in, run three toons, tend to not even notice most guild chat, don't hang with anyone, then go to bed. I started leveling the ring at level 46 in SI dungeons. I will be 50 before the ring is level 7, leveling in the exact same place every night. While the definition of solo isn;t correct, it's damn close enough for my tastes.

Getting back to my original statement about the game being a MMORPG, that's the thing that I fail to understand. Mythic has stated in the past the the game is designed around full groups and full buffs. Yet the RIng of Dances works completely opposite their stated game philosophy.

Pox - You've no idea how much I appreciate you offering to help, but there really isn't anything you can do. Killing the mobs isn't a problem, it's the fact that the rest of the gang is either RvR or somewhere in TOA as a guild.....

I am really just blowing off steam here at having to level it that way. I want the ring, so I guess the applicable saying here is "You can't have your cake and eat it too" :)

no really, nothing better than a full guild group to level lowbies in fomor. if you got an artifact to level along the way even better. :D

Cop, the group we are doing between Nukor and I is the following: 48 Ranger, 48.5 Shade, 46 Druid, 46 Bard, 50 Chanter. 5 toons, 2 people... so we need to be stationary with that group and we eventually devastate the spawn rate every night.

I am in no way against a guild group or a larger group as we can always dump the Chanter and just run 2 toons each....

It's not a poor reflection of the guild at all, I mean even as Brey I never asked for help killing a wiggle worm. This is like that... with that group make-up, it's not hard at all... just boring being stuck in the same dungeon... has the 'fin-tree' feel to it if you catch my drift :-D
