Cheating, RvR and you!

I join Aglon's RvR event BG last night, assuming we're hitting Emain to get our keeps back and find out that we're hitting Mid. Not 5 minutes pass before folks start saying that Mids are camping our mile gate in Midgard...did that strike folks as a little...odd? Was it IRC or some loser logging a lvl 1 toon to spy?

Also, lately I've been spending a lot of time in RvR around Emain. I'm a notorious panner, in that I'm always looking around. I've noticed in the last week, that just about every regular group running around in RvR aside from Hibs, tends to be running with the assist of some type of radar. Why do I say this? Because never, in the last week of play, have I once come up behind a group of Albs or Mids. Not once. Every encounter with Mids/Albs I've had was where a group would b-line directly from out of clipping at mine, most of the time coming in from the rear.

This last week's been horrible for Hibs, basically. We haven't held Ailinne or Bolg for days, and anyone making it to Emain is radar'd down. When exactly will radar become invalid? This is my base question and why are there so many talentless ass-hats out there who can't compete unless using some hack?

This quote says nothing about us going to Midgard in particular. I personally thought we'd go after a str relic, and the albs hold ours, so I half figured we'd be taking a relic in Albion. To have 3 groups of mids waiting at the HMG in Midgard shows you that there was obviously word leaked on IRC or something.

Not only did I not say anything about going to Mid, I did not even DECIDE what we were going to do until 9pm. My mistake was impatience. The group I asked to go ahead and scout the mfg in Mid had some lds and were a port later than I thought they would be. I ported the bg to Mid before we had checked to see if there were mids waiting for us. Once there was 2+ fg there, I knew there was no chance of taking a relic.

Either they had spies in the BG or they were camping there because they knew we had an RvR raid planned. I don't much care either way. The goal of the event never was to take relics, although if the opportunity to do so had been there, I would have been fast to grab it. The goal was to have fun in an enemy realm, rather than just wear out our boots in emain. We were successful - most everyone said they had a good time. The event was short (2 hours) so there was not a lot of standing and waiting, and people could go back to whatever they wanted after. That's MY idea of fun at least.

Still, spying sucks. Those that practice it are the same kind of people that use hacks in single-player games. I feel sorry for you guys. This is just a game.

you'd think that the mids wouldn't need to cheat, having larger numbers and all.

I don't understand how all that works with the client side and the packets and the encryptions and whatever.

But I read somewhere the patch will kill one kind of radar but not the other kind, so some people will still be radaring.

It really sucks, cheating is weak.

Someone made the comment last night that the free version of radar would be disabled but that the pay version would still work. They then went on to accuse Mythic of selling the pay version.

Humorous. I'll be glad when all radar is dead!

Glad to hear it went well Ag, sorry i didn't make it. it is now week 5 in the semester and the work load has increased do to the bad weather we have experienced here in NY in the last month and cancellations of School. I been playin catch up all month, hopefully things will settle out before spring break. I'll see yas on game when I can ;) Spying in a game damn some peeps really need to get a life. :p :( ;)

Well, I can honestly say that Outsiderz was DEFINATELY using radar up until yesterday. For the last 2 weeks their 1 group consistantly ran 1 or 2 groups of hibs at a time. Yesterday, I was grouped with a bard, and we rolled to the amg just duo, and bumped into another group of hibs, when 2 groups of the Outsiderz arrived and the 10 of us wiped 2 groups, with my butt getting 8 out of 16 kills. Similar things happened all night, where we'd gotten the jump and successfully dropped them fast.

*sigh* apparently they've already patched the most common form of radar. It's sad because I hadn't seen Outsiderz for DAYS until it was fixed, then last night they constantly got the jump on my group. It's the diff between night and day :(
