Only if you're 100% sure that doing it in 2 back to back weekends in a row, you won't get burnt out. Lotto sucks, as I well know, and it's easily a way to suck your very will to live out of you.

Edit: Btw, great job :)

Very nice raid swifty. If you do it again I will be there.

Lotto should go even smoother next time, I had to explain your style of doing the lotto about ten times... think most finally understood it, lol

8 attempted dragons raids = 1 successful dragon raid :)

Thank you again for leading it.

Major Grats, Swifty! I've been on so many failed raids that I had vowed to never go again until the dragon was killed. I guess I will have to consider attending the next one.

The lotto is a bit diffeant becasue of what happened on our last successful Dragon Raid, which lead into a ton of infighting and people not being very happy.

I just got an email of someone's screenshot of their /random 1000 and compared to mine. On his I see him with a random of 806, and Ralkar's random of 777.

On mine I only see Ralkar's roll, not his. If I had not done the lotto the way I did, this person would not have gotten a stone, when they should have.

I know somepeople were disapointed, even after many spams that I was keeping the head some still grumbled about it. (How long in advance should I notify that I am keeping something!!!)

Burnt out? No, that is what I wanted to see. That is why I play DAOC to get together and execute an objective. I only shot a few arrows at the dragon, most of my time was spent on the mound giving commands and sometimes chanrging down and helping with aggro.

I can't tell you in words what it was like telling everyone to watch for the messanger and see people fan out, cover all the exits and ask what to look for. He never appeared in the lair and he made it to the glimmers. I didn't know so I put everyone on the dragon. Fortuantly I was looking at the North entrance and I saw the glimmer horde start to pour in.
My heart sank and I spammed the Floating to aggro macro in what I thought would be a vain attempt at saving the raid. People responded, jumped off the dragon and killed all the reinforcements. I was on a 110+ person dragon raid that got wiped at this point, we survived. I knew at that point we would not loose.

I really wanted an animist or two for this raid, unfortuantly there wasn't any. :(

Well worth the wait to get there. Running aggro patrol was a ton of fun. I latched onto the side of the dragon and kept spamming my f8 key to see if any aggro's had come in. If it seemed too long, I'd detach and run a circle looking for some.

I've been on many raids and have never seen the dragon below 50%.

That really rocked. You did a great job with both leading the raid and the lotto. I'll be happy to support any future raids you hold.

When we got the dragon down to 75%, I was postive it was going down if the messanger could be stopped. Even with it getting out we still survived!

Boom, with a ton of shrooms next time, I hope to beat my personal best for damage vs the dragon. My taunts were hitting for 19-30 damage at which I decided I'd try a side style then BAM 70 damage +60 crit. Follow-up style BAM 70 damage +60 crit (is there a freakin cap or something? What's with 2 consecutive hits for the exact same amount???). Immediately following this, I was torn apart, but not before activating my scythe absorb/return (absorb 20% and return it to the dealer) and returning 160 damage twice :) Had I had more healing, that 160 damage would've continued for 5 minutes, but the third hit brought me down (it doesn't return damage on the deathblow).

For all the damage I dealt though, my group didn't get the loot, which must've meant that some other group was dealing more damage than that. It was pretty nifty to see though :)

I'd like to see what it'd be like if Boom were there, because I'm sure I could top that if the number of attackers was a lot larger.

only means they got more aggro by healing or taunting.

I taunted like hell and had aggro alot, only got 1 Mill xp in the end tho.

One thing I've found helpful for lotto with a really large number (like 100 people).

Form a cg. Make the cg public. Make the cg listen only.

Tell people to join cg to bid on the item. Make very clear only people in the bg may join the cg, and winners will be verified.

When everyone is in the cg, make the cg private. Tell everyone to do a /cg who (no arguement about who is rolling) and to determine their number in the cg. Wait a min or two for everyone to freak out, make sure anyone who cant find their name gets added. Repeat until everyone is satisfied. This takes less than 5 min overall.

Just random the number of people in the cg, rerolling any duplicates.

IMHO, letting people roll their own numbers just adds a lot of confusion.

I don't think loot lotto should take more than an hour or so if you do it this way.

For all the damage I dealt though, my group didn't get the loot, which must've meant that some other group was dealing more damage than that. It was pretty nifty to see though :)

btw, I had basically no lag at all. sometimes my frame rate meter went yellow for a few secs when the whole raid was in front of me. still I ran smooth (with ToA engine)

/em points at the button of his sig and flexes

The job of Animist will be in aggro controll, turret pets passive in the entrace to be instruted to pick off mobs, than if we get stormed, shroom the hell out of the glimmer reinforcements. Generally people say shrooms = bad on the dragon raid. On the third raid we'll try and shroom the hell out of the dragon to see what happens.

Animists can only have 1 controlled shroom up at a time (to put on passive or whatever). All the rest of the shrooms are fnf (fire and forget) and will attack anything within their 1000 range during their 2 minute lifespan.

Ya I know, I am assuming more than one Animist an we have the pets guard the entrace on passive. We also did a very good job keeping the Dragon in the south of the lair, and the North side is where the aggro comes on from. I think of we have another aggro emergany, a field of shrooms N won't be to disasterous.

I'd be intresting to see what would happen to the dragon over a field of shrooms, he's prob just AOE it and move on.
