depends on the media outlet. I could see fox running it, but most others, not so much.

Yes, more so from the genitalia being shown. As far simply being Muhammed, the real question is if the person(s) responsible for showing it would have their lives realistically threatened. Answer that, and you'll have your answer if it would be censored.

here is what i find amazing about this subject, lets take Southpark as an example, they HAVE shown depictions of Mohammad in the past in an episode called "super friends" no one cared. no one should care, i don't know what the point is. I do know that jihad was not one of the original pillars of the Muslim faith, it was added in the last 100 years or so and that at one time the Muslims were one of the most advanced people in the world. while Christians were busy killing each other for no reason they developed written word, math, and science, then some where they lost their way.

Because all religions believe someone not wanting to deal with their religion, be it because they believe a different religion or they're just not religious, is an attack on their religion. Things that were considered relatively benign a decade ago are now considered affronts to their way of life.

i must say though, the only thing more annoying then someone pushing their religion on you (you know, not counting the death parts) is someone pushing their non-religion on you. i have a very good friend who runs an atheist organization that is far worse then any church i've ever been to

While I believe they can be pushy, I've never seen an "ATTACK ON CHRISTMAS" equivalent. I'm agnostic and do believe in a higher power, but I've met a lot of people pushing religion. My grandmother was a preacher on AM radio across four states. Until she said there was no God, of course.

The followers of Islam made contributions to mathematics but to say that they were most advanced in the subject at any point in history would be incorrect. Almost every single person who expanded our understanding of math and physics has been a white european (or Russian if you call that asia). I'm not claiming that their race or background was a factor, or saying that they are better because of it- but aside from the invention of the number zero the arabic world didn't have much part in the history of math.

That's because Baghdad was destroyed by the Mongols. Most of their advancements were lost, and they still haven't recovered 700 years later.

That's pretty shaky. You could claim that Muslims discovered time travel and cured AIDS before we even knew it existed, but that there's no evidence of it because they were flattened.

While we can't know for sure how far they went, it's more shaky to claim they only got as far as you were stating. At worst, it's unknown, and the likelihood is that they were a lot further a long, simply because of how important Baghdad and that entire region was and what has happened throughout history in similar situations.

The architecture along merits a level higher than simply giving us the number zero.

They were the most advanced society, but they were defeated and couldn't get it back?

I don't think any history experts disagree with them being the most advanced at the time, the question is how advanced beyond that were they. Rome was the most advanced at the time they were defeated, too.

advanced in what, though? obviously not warfare, no proof of the math (i checked)... spirituality maybe?

They were advanced in everything but Mongol Defense, they dropped that course their Freshman year and forgot to re-enroll.

To be fair, pretty much nobody else passed that course either.

"advanced in what, though? obviously not warfare, no proof of the math (i checked)..."

The Roman empire was the most advanced in warfare. Does that mean they were never defeated, either?

Romans sub'ed out their military in the end to the people they were trying to control... not the smartest move. I think advanced is what comes before you implode.

Plus the whole "lead in the water" thing sorta drove people crazy

Lead in the water is better then no water!
