New PC for Kitty

making a new thread so Kitty won't miss it:) and it's not a new computer, but new to her LOL
here's the specs if you missed em in the armor/turtle thread...

XP Pro SP3
ASUS Striker Extreme (forgot to add the mobo)
2048 - DDR2 800 ram
E6600 C2Duo at 2.6
NVIDIA GTX 260 w/896m ddr3 ram
SoundBlaster Audigy2 ZS
2 SATA2 320g drives, 1 for file storage
LG 22" monitor 1680x1050 native res..


The Kitty has returned to LOTRO mwuhahahahaha!!!! she got the pc up and running and started roaming and looking at all the shiny graphics in the game... we won't get her to group for a week for all the looking around I think...

scary thing is that it's my old system and it mainly sits there collecting dust...

I figured since Kitty always makes an effort to help others get things done, it would go to a good home....



I can't wait to hear what she thinks of the game when seeing it on high settings with no lag.. or little I hope.. didn't test it during a crowded 21'st hall time..

I'm totally speechless, when you sent me the thing on myspace i thought, oh cool..but looking at it, i am ..i dont know how to explain, thank you so much for your generosity, i lubs you bert, i cant get the laptop to do what i want, and since i mostly use it at work to do my homework, its not really appropriate for me to game neway :P <3 ya to ivy, miss playing with you, holy crap 12L0!
p.s. ive always said i wondered if i had a pc that could keep up with me how awesome i would be (ive got the lag timing perfect) gonna be an eye opener to see if i can cash the boast my mouth has made :P

will be fun to be in your first group on the new set-up ...

once you get set-up and online with it... please resize and post the desktop picture here... I think other's may like it too.. I couldn't resist, it spoke to me....

Computer Dimensions: 21"x21"x10" it's pretty large



BTW, the striker extreme mobo... it takes a bit after plugging it in before the power button will fire it up.. made me think it was broke.. if it doesn't fire up at all, even after waiting a few minutes.. shouldn't happen, but just in case...
theres a small button on the rear of the mobo, (back of computer) small LCD screen for error codes next to it.. grey color I think press the little button... alot of people returned the board when it came out due to that little thing.. LOL the mobo book is in the box with the monitor..

oh, use the thick power cable for the computer LOL it has a big power supply since it used to be an SLI rig

Seriously, because now we're not going to ear:" I'll muster when I'm out off lag" or again "Guys, I cant heal when you're killing too much mob it make me lag" or " Can we begin now??.. nope Kitty is still in the loading page." The best... "ok guys i'll switch to my LM..." 2 biobrakes and 3 cigs later, " ok, I'm in guys.... guys??..." (sleeping or autolog off)

Last I looked the boxes are there for delivery. So Monday Kitty! you should see them delivered, unless you aren't home when they stop by :( crossing my fingers that you are home for the drop off...

Fun stuff, seems that the computer starts up but sits there, fans come on, but nothing on the monitor. no BIOS beep either.


figured it out after a bit of thinking.. the Striker Extreme has this pain in the #*@! thing where it likes to go into a semi sleep mode. if there is no power connected for awhile. I had the same issue when I first got the board and thought it was DOA, but it was a small hiccup listed on the ASUS/SLI forums

Kitty pressed the power button a few times after the initial power up and now it's working... still a weird glitch for a mainboard...

Gratz Kitty! :) post that desktop pic too.... keep ooohing and aaaahing at the graphics... you'll get used to it :)
