View Full Version : Spellcrafting - what's needed for maxing stats

I went through all the spell crafting notes hoping to find out what kind of masterpiece armor I'd need to maximize my item stats.
I've based this on having complete masterpieces for boots, gloves, legs, arms, hauberk, helm, cape, sword and shield.
Each masterpiece piece of lvl 51 equipment will be able to hold 35 points of spellcrafting. As you can see by the attached spreadsheet, I will only be able to bring my stats to about 50% of their max if I spread them around.
In order to (almost) max my item stats I'd need about 70 points per piece.
Now the only place I'm going to be able to fill in any voids would be depending on the jewelry I am wearing. It'll depend on the drops you've got. There's 6 jewelry items, so it certainly won't fill in the (about) 50% more needed.
This also assumes a realm rank 5 adding +5 to the vital stats.
I figure you can take all your item stats to about 80%-ish with masterpiece items. If masterpiece armor is such a huge bonus versus even 99% stuff, anything less would net you about 65% stat maxes.
Please tell me I've made an error here... ?

Did this take into account the rumoured ability to increase an item's quality over Masterpiece?
(haven't looked at spreadsheet yet, gimme a few)
I got a little confused with the mval stuff. But if I'm reading this right you need 24 gems to max everything out. 4 gems in each item = 6 items. Badda bing, badda me.
but some gems take up too much magic point space, so you can't have the 4 gems you might want.
morety, did you take into account overcrafting or whatever? you can get up to 38 or something with that, but you risk losing the item and yourself :)

When you all get this completely figured out, tell me what to buy, what to order and how much it's going to cost me. :cheese:

What this shows is that for the stats I want, I'll have to charge the gems up to some 60 points on average. A masterpiece will hold 35 points.
Therefore, we won't be getting the stats maxed out.
We'll have to build the stats for armor around our jewelery and pick and choose which ones we want.
I for one want all my resistance maxed out before anything else.

Mo,
I don't understand your spreadsheet  Where did you get all the information to generate it? I remember reading some of that stuff on camelot herald, but I don't remember seeing all of the details. Do I just need to read it more carefully? Maybe its a newer update.
I think that casters may have it a little bit better because there are not so many things to try to optimize. Also, mythic said that eventually we will have the ability to make and imbue jewelry items also, so it may not be the best long term strategy to build your items around existing jewelry.
Anyway, i guess i gotta get on camelot herald and then build a caster spreadsheet
:ack:

I just plan to review my epic and replace a piece or two that have wasted stats. I'm not really thinking whole suit, at least not now.

Norm, all the information was on the release given by the Herald. I was hoping that 98% qua armor would max stats and that masterpieces wouldn't be a necessity, or that at least I only needed one or two to max my stats.
Here's a cool spreadsheet I got from the vn boards.
Put 35 in the squares where it says available points to be equal to masterpieces.
This sheet is NOT entirely accurate but will certainly be an easy method to give you a good idea of what you can achieve, including casters.
I kinda have the same plan as Hammer. I'm not going to bother with crafted stuff for Boomie cuz he already ownz and has the important stuff maxed out. All he needs is a staff with 50 focus of light and mana. :D But for Booom I'll see where he stands with his epic gear, then just replace the lamest piece of epic gear with a player crafted 99% or masterpiece and load it up on whatever stats I am needing the most (probably melee resists).
