Yesterday Tammerion announced in /as that she was auctioning off a few masterpiece items and to send her a tell for chat. She had two cloth hats af 49 qual 100% and one leather sleeves af 102 qual 100%. She waited till she got a few people in chat, then started the bidding on one of the cloth hats at 150 gold (or was it 250?). People were raising each other and the price was rising pretty rapidly. One dude was raising by 1 gold and it was annoying everyone so she made the minimum rais 5 gold. When it got up to about 500 the bids started slowing down. Then a couple guys started raising each other by 50 gold! It shot up to 800 gold! She had announced earlier that the person who won the first hat would have an option to buy the second hat for the same price. So the guy won the first hat for 800, and said he would take the second one for 800 as well. 1600 for 2 hats! I'm not sure why he wanted two of them. The leather sleeves didn't go for as much as the hats (not as many leather wearers bidding as cloth wearers), but I'm pretty sure they went for over 500g. After the masterpieces were won, she stated that she had made a lot of 99% items in the process of making the masterpieces and they could be bought for the price of the opening bid (maybe it was 250g, I can't remember).

Anyway, she got good money for these items on the spur of the moment. If you had an auction and announced it in advance, so there would be more people bidding, you could probably sell the stuff for much higher prices. Tamm said she plans on using the money to pump out more items and get more masterpieces to auction.

I actually thought of auctioning off a couple of items I have. But, I want to make sure I take care of our guild first.

I've been going on crafting binges when I get up to 3 plat. At that time I sit and craft a few pieces, ditching the low qualities and re-crafting.

So far I got a nice set of scale for Dape (one 97%, the rest 98 and 99) and another nice set for Ailia (a couple masterpieces, and some 99's) without the vest yet. I took care of them first as they gave a fair buck to the crafter funds.

If anyone wants to start giving me stuff for salvaging and some gp's, it'll help me to get going on the rest of our crew.

Of course, I'll be keeping the first masterpiece of each for myself, then it'll be LoL getting them.

I started a spreadsheet at work trying to figure out exactly what equipment I was going to need to max out on all my stats based on the spellcrafting info. I was close to being done when it was vacation time. I'll try and get it back for the end of the week. It could be that a full set of 98% qualities will maximize everyone's stats, so these people bidding on masterpieces are wasting their gp's for nothing.
