I was wondering if any of you use software to backup your machines and how exactly does it work? Do you backup to CD-R's or do you copy the files to another pc altogether?

I threw together a little machine for the purpose of backing up info from two other pc's and I was thinging I would just copy folders over the network, but if there is a program that would automatically do that, I would be interested, so anyone know if such a thing exists?

Spanks.... jerks! :p

Drive Image ROXXORS. www.powerquest.com

You can back it up to a file(s) and cap the files at certain sizes so you can burn them across CD's if you like.

I'm glad you said that. I just happened to have a copy of Drive Image that My uncle hooked up when we built my mother's machine. I had to use it on her machine today to restore a partition, because my brothers had screwed up their whole partition with virii. :cheese:

I've heard about this Norton doohicky that makes a bootable CD with a compressed file with lots of your goods on it. Can't remember the name of it. I live dangerously, I don't back up anything.
