I have a thin red line that slowly works its way up my tv screen through the PS3, anyone have any idea what's causing this?
Is it unique to the PS3? Does it have its own connection to the TV? My first guess would be something between the physical box and the TV itself. I had a picture issue with my XBox, and it turned out to be the cable.

I had an issue similar to that with mine until I swapped my HDMI cable. Cleared up instantly. I bought my cable off Ebay for $2.00. Beats the $100+ they wanted at Best Buy.

Here you go Mo... Good place to pick up HDMI cables at very reasonable prices: http://www.monoprice.com/home/index.asp
Here is a review someone did between Monster Cables and Monoprice Cables: http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/hdmi-cable-battlemodo/the-truth-about-monster-cable-part-2-268788.php

Yep, Monoprice rocks.. Hiddenwolf and I both bought all our HDMI cables from them for our Hometheater set ups.. Monster stuff is just way overpriced..

It's unique to the ps3.
Two solutions I'd seen were 1) remove the cable from the back of the tv, and 2) it's a grounding loop problem, get an adapter to make it a 2 prong plug and it should clear up.
I'd figured I'd buy an adapter.
My tv's one of the first hdtv's, meaning it's a medium-def (1080i/720p) and I'm using the component cables as it doesn't have an hdmi input.

Remove the cable from the back of the TV? Do you have an AVR that you are routing the rest of your video components through? If so I would definitely go that route just to have a single video feed to the TV. It would also tell you for sure it's the PS3, be it the cable from the PS3, or the grounding loop issue. It could also be the component input that the PS3 is attached too assuming it has multiple component inputs.
