They talked a lot about the process in the guide but I didn't see much info about leveling. Will spell crafters level the same as other crafters? Will spell crafters have to have tons of player made stuff to level with? Can they spell craft items in their inventory(it sounded like an interactive process)? Will it be months before there is a spell crafter that can imbue level 50 weapons and armor with decent stats?

I'm pretty sure that they will have to level up similar to other crafters. You won't need tons of player made weapons or armor because the way spellcrafting works is the creation of gems. You make gems that add bonuses/resists. The leveling up process will just consist of making tons and tons of those gems.
I haven't heard anything about being to spellcraft items in your inventory. The only process I've heard about is the interactive one, via the trade window.
Knowing the hardcore people in this game, it will probably be at most a few weeks. Leveling in spellcrafting is supposed to be cheaper than any other craft. There are future spellcrafters out there that have saved up multiple plat in preparation for this.

Thanks for the feed back phant. Ok, so you just have to make gems, you don't have to succussfully combine them with items for skill. The interactive process sounds cool, until you remember how hard it was to find someone on-line to make you something. I remember spending a couple of days back in my 30's looks for a crafter to make me some scale at my level. And I gave up on finding a WC to make a weapon for me around that same time frame. Hopefully we'll get some spellcrafting/wc/tailor/armor alliances so you can just order a weapon or armor with xx quality and xx stats.

It's my understanding that spellcrafting is one of the least expensive crafts to be going, if that means anything...
