A few peeps from FoN are going to give War a tryout. We made a guild called Forces of Destruction (Destruction) on Wolfenburg. We have lots of friends who are checking it out also and I would like to invite anyone here thats going to be checking it out. Just look us up or get back to me here and we'll set you up. Our vent info has stayed the same however a new web page is in the works. Once everything is updated ill post an update.

just a note, rvr servers aren't how the game was designed to be played. it's an afterthought ruleset and thus may not end up being as fun.

Im not sure about that. I think the whole concept of WAR was RVR, but who knows. Im enjoying it so far.

RvR only means realm versus realm. does not say anything about the PvP rules. ;-)

as it is Core server is more to how the standard DAoC server worked. save PvE and PvP only in Battlegrounds or "frontier" zones.

RvR server in WAR means open world pvp anywhere (although its still only order versus destruction).

think about Mordred with all players being in one of two guilds

I think open would suck because of the auto-chicken. I've already gone back to T1 to complete some stuff for my tome of knowledge, and that would be impossible if I were on an open server.

There are PLENTY of opportunities for RVR combat, and since you have be in specific spots for it, it's likely that there will be less searching for opponents.

is it that you turn chicken in open for doing something, or just for being around? Or is it for entering an rvr area?

seems like mandatory chicken is lame.

The concept of WAR is good vs evil. Depending on what side you play if you see someone of the other realm you should be able to kill them. Its more realistic that way and pretty fun. Everyone is different so each to there own.

Chicken is applied when you are RVR flagged in a lower tier.

This means for core, you will only be a chicken in a lower tier if you flag yourself or enter an RVR area.

For open, since you are always flagged, you will chicken as soon as you enter a lower tier area.

I got chickened just for going into a lower tier area. I thought it was triggered by level alone, not for being RvR flagged?

It is a combination of lvl & being RvR flagged. As long as your are not flagged for RvR, you should not be chickened (or at least I wasn't). Although it seemed to be inconsistent; at lvl 12.5 I started chickening in a PQ but didn't do so from 12.0 to 12.5 (perhaps this had something to do with the RvR flag again). In this circumstance I got chickened, so I logged out and logged in again & chicken was gone in the same region.

I find a lot of people doing pq's are flagged for rvr, and as soon as I heal them I get flagged as well. It could be some interaction.

On open servers, since you're always flagged for rvr, you will auto-chicken in lower tier zones. On core servers, unless you get flagged you're fine.
