Mythic, in order to deal with the high population issuse, they have cloned a few of the servers, including Skull.

The new one for us is Tower of Doom.

All of our toons have been cloned.

So... we have decide.... Skull or Tower? Once you play on one.. the oter will be out of date.....

I think the decision was to stick with skull throne, and the queues should only go down. If you jump ship, you may end up on a server that's severely underpopulated.

edit: got around it. Selected the Tower of Doom server, then went back to Skull and it let me in.

Can anyone tell me what the different types of servers are? I know RP is a roleplay one though I'm not sure how/if that affects gameplay. What about the other ones... I think core and maybe RvR? I thought all PvP was RvR in this game.

RvR is on Core, where it is more like the DAoC mindset. You have controlled RvR without wide open PvP all over the world.

The other server is like any other PvP server for a MMO which in turn means you can die everywhere to a player.

I thought PvP server was just that you are always flagged for RvR, and no bolstering in the scenarios, plus chickeing at entering a tier 2 levels or lower.
But you still can't fight your own side.

The no bolster/no reverse bolster is what makes it dumb.

Core server has zones where you can level/quest without getting killed. There is also Realm vs Realm (RvR) combat zones. So you do have safe places to go when you just want to grind some levels. You also have a choice to flag yourself with RvR if you'd like, so enemies can attack you and vice-versa.

Open is a free for all with Player vs Player (PvP) combat open at all times. No grinding levels in peace as you can get ganked at any time.

The only time I have not hit a wait time on Skull is early afternoon, around 2-3pm PST.

If we went with another server, I'd prefer to roll an order character on something like Sylvania. I haven't seen it full (just high population), for order, and that way, we can have two going instead of having to make a commitment to coming off the server.

Same problem for me at midnight CST, server is so full I can't even get in the que. I'm wondering if these servers are quite a bit smaller then what we expect in DAOC. If so, bringing all of our Hib friends to one server may be creating our own headache...

Be careful guys, from my perspective this sounds identical to what occurred in WoW, even the idea of going off and setting up an opposing faction "official" server for the guild.

Fragmentation seems to already be occuring. Just a warning that the duplication of WoW seems underway as this is very close to the exact conversations we had during its initial release.

I have an Order toon but truth be told I only play when I can't get in Skull Throne. Don't do anything there except PvP and once I get 12 with one toon I will just make a new one and start again.

Queues have been improving on the server I'm playing on (Volkmar) over the last week, and it's the 2nd highest populated server. This will be great for our future RVR, to be on these popular servers.

Our main server is/will be Skull Throne. If queue's are too long there's Order twinks on Azazel. The queues will lighten up soon.

stay vigilant guys! the cloned server will likely fill up since there's still new players trickling in, but I understand the need to stick to your guns. If it gets too rediculous... the longest queue i've ever waited in on Ulthuan is 9 people.... Although destruction outweighs order a bit (that's what I get for posting my server name/realm on youtube ><).

What are the queues like now (meaning prime time)? I have been bouncing around and looking to settle so I can get someone above 15... My time is limited so I really do not want to deal with a queue longer then 10 min.

I've just starting playing on Skull Throne.... started playing on Azazel with DOG...

The queue on Sunday during prime time was about 75... or about 15 minutes.... I logged in on Monday at about 9pm cst... and the queue was 32 ... or about 10 minutes...

I think they have opened up the bandwidth... allowing more on the server... since everyone isn't in the same area's anymore....

I have to decide whether to play on Order or Destruction...

I didn't see any queue when I hopped over to ST for a bit, but of course that was at midnight.

I've been playing my order chars on Drakwald which has been a medium/medium server from day one. It's a little slow late nights (1am PST) but I've been able to find groups and lots of RvR the rest of the time. Wish they'd make it an extra exp. server.
