Anybody have a good rundown on the mechanics of each of the classes?

Debating between Chosen, Zealot and Sorc...:D There's a problem with melee RVR, lag. People tend to jump around in the scenarios due to lag and it's hard to keep up especially with collision detection.

So far I have tried a Sorc, DoK, Shaman, and Magus

I tried to get in to the DoK (since it was my 1st pick from weeks ago when I was just reading about the classes). I like the concept of a melee / healer, but I just couldn't get in to it.

The Sorc is A LOT of fun playing. Very big Nukes and you usually can kill most even level mobs before they even get to you (and if not they are dead very shortly after they reach you). I can see it being a very fun class in pvp, but I didn't like the survivabilty.

The shaman is fun as a healer / ranged caster. The healing seems strong and the ranged combat seems okay. You really get more out of the class when grouped. If it turns out that we have enough people playing consistantly down the road, I may have to try this out as well as my alt.

I just started playing a Magus today and I have been having a lot of fun with him. The class is a defensive caster. Basically less powerful attacks than most of the ranged classes, but the attacks are more powerful the closer you get to him. Not too mention, the pets are pretty cool. It makes for a great flag defending class. Plus, when you're in pvp, people dont target you first :)

i have been becoming partial to black orc, they can hit hard, can do buffs off of combos and they can tank decent...

I originally wanted to play a Magus, but during beta I really fell in love with the Sorc (before you say it I rolled a MALE toon!).
Reminds me too much of a void eldy mixed with a mana eldy. The insta PBAE is sweet. It doesn't do massive damage, but it's spammable and fantastic in RvR if used right. I can't tell you how many shadow warriors kept trying to get in ranged battles with me only to have me run up on them and kill them before their sword even came out.

My second favorite toon was actually an Engineer. This was a very very close second. Close enough that I may be playing one a lot early on instead of sitting in queues.

Also, did you know that if you right clicked on dwarf npc toons that they'd sometimes call you a bastard and other names? Maybe I'm just easily amused?

Damn it. I have been looking and looking over all the abilities and level 40 type stuff for each class and sadly, I am only confusing myself even more.

Truly, I think it's a true testament to the game that they have made every single class and race interesting in one way or another. Enough so as to make a clear cut choice of what to play as a main toon exceedingly difficult.

It's going to be very difficult for me to stick with one toon for long periods of time. I honestly would play nearly every single one. Not just on Destruction, but order as well.

I am playing a squig herder to begin with (name is Krammit). All the pets are very useful and the basic squig is quite the tank!

One thing I found that is really fun is the Black Ork's taunt which works on players! What it does is:
1) monster attack you. You gain +30% damage until they hit you three times
2) players are not forced to hit, but you still gain +30% damage until they do hit you three time.
both versions last 15 sec I believe (or until 3 hits).

Full collisions are on in the BGs so meat shields can actually get in your way. Funny though is a gobbo can jump over each other or a well timed one can clear a dorf!

well at lvl 17 i had enough mastery points to get hte core tactic that lowers my plink down to 1 sec and with lots o arerrs it is hells fast killing... and with the haste on my plink it didnt lower my dps per shot either so i am doubling my dps with it.
