Mo you happen to know what game mechanic is like per class at 40? I'm kinda split between Zealot, Marauder, and Sroc but don't know how they are going to be like @ 40. Thanks.

Hmm. Check the WoW equivalents, then create slight but random changes.

I know that the classes feel very different at L31 than at L1-15. way more choices especially with all the morale and tactics stuff.

Sorc is THE single target damaging caster class for destruction. Way more than the Magus (without pets and debuffs). Obviously if a Magus debuffs for a Sorc you get the craziest damage in the game. The spec trees are like Single Target versus AoE versus DoT.

Marauder is probably not the highest damage melee class of destruction (that is probably the dark elf bitch, eh witch), but he is pretty versatile and not as squishy with his mutations.

Zealot I personally dont know. I think the Shaman may be the better healer. Zealot is kinda more similar to the Archmage. being casted offensive and defensive (buffs/curses and heals) at the same time. I suppose a well played Zealot can make a huge difference, but I did not see one well played yet. Most play like a caster with self heals and dont heal team members at all.

Simply go to the trainer and check out all the abilities you can get as well as the talent trees. note that specing into a tree will also increase the strength of all normal spells and abilities grouped under that tree.

you can also get an overview of all the abilities at, as well as a spec calculator:

http://www.wardb.com/search.aspx?browse=6.1.24

for destruction I think Sorc is the best caster (DPS wise), Zealot is probably second best healer (I think Shaman might be better, DoK is more like a Warden/Friar should have been in DAoC ;)).

Yeah sorc was a lot of fun especially in scenarios. It was easy to top the charts in damage. I'm just scared they'll get nerfed. It feels like the Mage in WoW and that was one of my main.

Zealot is lower in dps by far then shaman but I don't like the game mechanic of a shaman. Shaman heals depends alot of his offense but sometime I just want to spam quick heals and that's not possible on shaman without tossing out a few offensive spells. The thing I like about zealot is their abundance of insta/fast casting spells. Allows them to be on the move and heal.

Marauders have nice AE and anti-caste/healer abilities. They're pretty hardy and in a zerg fight, their AE will be pretty useful. What I really really like about them is the 75% heal debuff.

Well that's my impression up to 11.

The only high level char's I played to any length were the Bright Wizard and the Squig Herder.

When playing the bright wizard, zealots gave me a big pain in the ass. I found in pvp that tanking was not easy when there was a zerg happening, and ranged dps was the way to go. If you depend on melee to get class heals off, it could be tough in rvr.

That was in zerg warfare, in a group v group scenario that would be different. During beta I didn't get to do any group roaming, so for the most part I was doing ranged damage.

Sorry I can't be much more help :/

how is the Squig herder at 40? or close to?

The squig herder is great fun.

You can send the pet in when you're out of range of anyone else and totally harrass some poor schmuck without having to worry about getting hit.

Of course, the squig's not hard to kill. At the time (not sure now) you could turn him into a 'super sized squig' and it'd lay on some pain :D

Totally fun for a weasel-type player like myself...in the right situation.

another comment to the Magus, his strongest spells are usually close range or pbaoe spells. similar to the Bainshee in DAoC he also gets a specable pulsing pbaoe.
problem is he is that squishy that pbaoe range in PvP is suicide. Witchhunters two or three round you regularly ^^

Hey Guys.

Been in the beta for a while playing healer classes, here is my 2cents worth on them (experience at both ends of the level scale).

Zealot/RunePriest is ur pure healer class, minimal dps but have the best heals and good tools to get out of trouble.

Shaman/Archmage are a nuker/healer. Good solo Rvr toon, can crank out the healing but need to balance it with dps. The both have an ability to cast an "insta heal" to help against frontloaded damage that the Zealot/Runnie lack. I found them quite brittle tho, with not alot of escape options.

DoK/WarriorPriest are melee healers. They are the ultimate inception of the Warden from Daoc! Cool class to play, some handy grp heal/bubble abilities and lots of melee based hots/healing. They get plenty of armour so last a bit better against tank trains.

All 3 types are lots of fun to play(if u like healing esp) and in a balanced grp of 6 u would want 2 of them all the time.

Hope this helps.

Looks like Shamans are pretty tough at higher levels with decent abilities. I watched a few rvr vids of them.

hi Binder.

Rather OT but...

I guess I'll be that guy with news from the other side. I've been playing Order on Helborg with some friends. Still haven't decided on server/class though.

I feel like I'm a bug-report / feedback fiend though. I think I submit at least a half dozen of each per day. >.< C'mon mythic, fix 'em all!

My friend is an Elder tester, I wonder if he can divulge any 'mechanic @40' info without losing his neck heh.
