Lions Server?

So, WAR is coming soon. I got a bunch of Moonlit Thorns and a RL friend or two on hold. We want to play on the same server and are up to join the Lions again, just as in AoC.

So, what server we are going to play on?

I don't know if you guys were interested but The Fianna will be rolling Destruction, either on Barack Varr (if they keep it) or as Reignfyre (who is leading it) says, the first server starting with the letter "B." It would be nice to get all of us Pellinor hibs on the same server. Let me know.

If I might make a quick suggestion...

Barak Varr was seriously overpopulated in the preview weekend. Apparently other groups were using this exact same idea. Maybe changing to another server (perhaps the last one starting with T or something along those lines) would be beneficial? If Barak Varr has queue times and other servers do not, it'll only lead to scattering people across servers, much like WoW did.

I'll go with the majority of course, but I thought this was worth pointing out as a potential pitfall in the plans.

forwarding this to my guild. because Calain and me will need another 1-2 weeks again to get our game shiped after launch please invite any Moonlit Thorn to the LoL-WAR guild that makes it into the game earlier than us. I will tell them to check here and message LoL-folks ingame. they are all good folks too. :)

Iam getting excited already. now I just need to find a really cheap notebook that runs WAR well enough so I can play some when Iam elsewhere on the weekends. ^^

Well a few of us from Lia Fail are looking to play. We try get on same server as you all. Is Lions starting guild or Fianna or both? lol confused. I know Lia Fail won't, none of us have the time anymore to run a guild, so we will be looking for a good one.

Fianna and Lions are both starting a guild. One of the old school Fianna, Sanjiyan (he played an elf ranger, around RR6 when he retired) is coordinating alliance stuff.

I think alot of this will also depend on what server has what ruleset...If the first server to begin with B is an Open Ruleset, we may want to rethink it, or if its a Core ruleset, vice versa...

I've heard from a few people that Barak Varr is going to be a hotspot for more alot of communities. Not just pell and that most are talking destro on it.. I think ST may be going to another server if that comes to fruitition since some of our people had a hard time during the preview weekend making toons..

When the game goes live, so far we're sticking to the first "Core" (normal) server that starts with the letter "B". Nothing's changed from that. Currently, that'd be Blood Keep.

That's when it goes live, as for beta, I'm personally on the "test server" as an 'elder beta' tester.

For the first time I've been planning to play, I'm second-guessing my guarantee that Order will be the most populated. I'm still swayed to that opinion, but it has wavered the past couple of weeks...

And Horde was more popular in beta, and Midgard was more popular in beta...

Typically, a person not having a decent knowledge of the game is going to pick the "good" side. And most people who are going to be playing in a couple of months aren't going to be people who participated in beta.

That said, I've never seen it so lopsided in other games like it is now.

maybe...i think people might be on to the more fun class though. Maybe everyone has learned from it. I think that Destruction will be a little more heavy, but i think it doesnt matter if they do queues.

destruction has higher pop on the EU servers too. but many people who play the beta pick a different side there than they will in the final game in order to not play the same classes/quest a second (or third) time.

After playing in the general beta I broke down and picked up a pre-order. I'll play whatever server or side we eventually choose. Having a lot of fun with all of the classes right now and trying to find one I like the most.

The population will adjust on its own. THere are a lot of people on destruction who are thinking wow, it's going to be populated. I'll move over to Order. If everyone did that, then Order will be more populated then Destruction. It's hard to tell at this point. Just go with the side everyone wants is a safer bet.
