that is a bummer. i called my local ebgames and the guy had 1 more copy left. So i went and picked it up. He also gave me a key for the free in game item. So I scored big time. :) Hope to have it loaded before all the masses get it tomorrow. See you guys in game.

K now i'm a little worried. Got my game. yippee So after about 40 mins for the disk to load I went to register the game. it tells me the early access is close. No big deal, I figure that. I just wanted to get it loaded before the masses tomorrow. i put in all my info and at the bottom after it tells me EA is closed, We hope to see you in on the 23rd. That is what has me worried. IF i use the key is it not going to let me in until the 23rd. I'm a little baffled on that one. Anyone else see that?

on a good note I went ahead and luanched the game and it is downloading the patches as I type this. so far 94 megs 13 megs and now the 621 megs.

Can you make bluray copies of bluray movies? I'm sure the copy protections won't let you do that...yet.

Or high-def movies from home films? I have a high-def camcorder and wouldn't mind making bluray movies with it.

Funcom is proud to announce that the Collector’s Edition of Age of Conan is now completely sold out in all markets. The exclusive edition was announced in January, and has since topped retail charts at numerous retailers. In some markets, the Collector’s Edition has been sold out for weeks, and as a result additional boxes were made. These are also sold out, and the total print run stands at 111.000 units. Lucky customers may still find some copies on retail shelves, but no re-orders are available.

Additional retail figures for the standard edition of Age of Conan are also highly impressive. In total, Funcom is shipping around 700.000 copies of Age of Conan on day one. This impressive figure for a PC game is powered by equally impressive pre-order numbers. As a result of the tremendous interest and recent order increase, Funcom has not been able to fulfill all orders of Age of Conan in several markets due to current server capacity limitations. Extra orders of servers are now in place to facilitate for handling of more customers.

WoW did some weird stuff at launch also.... don't forget... we get 10 days added to our accounts for that $5... we need to take the bad with the good...

WoW was basically unplayable for about 3 weeks after launch then that coupled with the long ass queues on most servers for 2 months after that... It was only after about 6 months that it finally became stable and mostly playable. WoW is still working to get as good about uptime as DAoC was though.

So far (and granted it was a limited player base) the pre-release has been great and the only issue I have had is the Mage quest. I have not lagged out once or had a ping over 30ms. I am very happy with how it is going and hope that the public launch will go smoothly (made it to 23 so I am outside the n00b area that will be hell at launch).

Well for the question on Blu-Ray

its all about the amount of data stored

for a rewrite disk i can store up to 25 gig

for a write only i can store up to 50 gigs

as to copying blu-ray disks, i dont advocate it or do it myself but i do know its possible, this is one reason with blu-ray they keep chaning the codeing on it for movies

the key thing here is this, if you buy a blu-ray player only buy 2 types 1 for your pc and play it on your tv that way or 2 for a ps3, soon to be xbox also

I just think its funny i can store almost the same amount of data on 1 disk that had on my last comp's hardrive it was only a 60 gig drive lol :)



Oh for getting out of the noob area at lvl 20 you have to do the single player quests at nighttime. once you do the last one it auto ports you to your race's hometown :)

Most stand alones let you firmware update to play the newer blue rays but the 360 is good bang for buck ., but the one with the smaller HD does not upscale original dvds as well I beleive

The server preparations for launch are proceeding well. To be able to proper test everything and to ensure the best possible performance we need however to extend the scheduled downtime by 2 more hours.

The US servers should therefore be online again at around 4 am GMT.
