Since Caer asked for a thread listing items to take to the Rift I decided to start this thread for her and future raiders.
WHAT TO PACK (updated 5/2/2008):
FOOD: Blackberry Tarts (everyone), Lembas, Perfect Pie, Masterful Mash, Feast of Rohan, Delicious Steak.
POTS: Heal Pots, Power Pots, Wound Pots, Fear Pots & Poison Pots (use your own judhgement here but at least 5 pots)
TOKENS: Hope Tokens (3 - 5 Brilliants and at least 1 Glorious for Thrang battle)
SCROLLS: Battle and Warding Lore scrolls (at least one of each would be nice to contribute to the raid for one of the boss battles)
WEAPONS: certain bosses are moe susceptible to certain damage types (i.e. Thrang and fire damage). Most seasoned players carry different weapons with different damage types all the time, regardless of the rift. So just take the choice weapons you have for any or all damage types you have available.
TRAVEL RATIONS: Have at least FIVE travel rations on you for the summoning you may need to the Rift.OTHER THINGS TO CONSIDER:
CAPTAINS
BANNERS: A top notch Captain (Kitty, Lyr and Ella) will have critted banners (War, Hope and Victory)GUARDIANS
SHIELD SPIKES: I don't know a lot about them but I understand they increase the damage guardians inflict on their shield attack skills.HUNTERS
BOW CHANTS: Might be a good idea take Wind-Rider (10% Power Reduction) and Whisper-Draw (reduces threat generation) bow chants
REFINED LIGHT AND FIRE OIL: These are always nice to have in your hunters inventory
TRAPS: They have their uses anywhere even in the RiftMINSTRELS
LUTE STRINGS: Consumable item that can reduce your threat generation while healing
INSTRUMENTS: Try and determine whay instrument best serves the raid and your roll as a ministrel. Some instruments increase Ballad Damage while others reduce threat generation. Choose your instrument wisely.I'm sure Im forgetting something so please add on to this thread, especially when it comes to the other classes I haven't touched on.
Yes Kitty is absolutely correct regarding traits. It is imperative that you have the traits slotted for the raid. For instance if it looks like a Balrog attempt is in the plans be sure to at least slot Fidelity or Honor for the shadow mitigation bonus. Dwarves may want to slot Endurance of Stone for the mitigation bonuses, albeit short as they are they are impressive for a few seconds. All races and classes have important traits to consider slotting before entering the Rift and if you are ever unsure talk to a rift veteran in your class.
Some recommended veterans to speak to for hints and feedback:
(Kitty is a vault of knowledge for just about any class in the Rift)
Burglers - Mallory
Captains - Kitty or Lyr
Champions - Frothy or Bobalin
Guardians - Proff or Sporto
Hunters - Nim or Pure
Loremasters - Nanuq
Minstrels - Noveah
