Bush says this:

Chiding U.S. allies who have withheld civil liberties, Bush said governments will never build trust by harassing or imprisoning candidates and protesters.

"You cannot expect people to believe in the promise of a better future when they are jailed for peacefully petitioning their government," Bush said. "And you cannot stand up a modern, confident nation when you do not allow people to voice their legitimate criticisms."

Just as people are being arrested for protesting against US policy:

Police arrested 80 protesters outside the U.S. Supreme Court today during a protest marking the sixth anniversary of the first terror suspects imprisoned at the U.S. military base at Guantanamo Bay. Similar protests were held in Australia, Europe and Africa.

It's a blog... and that's your news source? Man...

Perhaps it's true... but.. sounds misleading to me. At the very least not well-informed or well-written.

It is really sad... Free Speech Zones, RealID Act, No Habeas Corpus, Unwarrented Wiretaps, Torture, etc... But we still call ourselves the becon of liberty. Something is really wrong in our country.
