Let’s discuss some guild direction in this thread. We are starting to get some solid numbers going and it looks like the lions will actually stick around as its own kin.
Housing:
We are waiting... and waiting. We have already talked about this in kin a bit, but feel free to speak up. Currently, we are looking to buy a kin house in hobbit land as soon as the kin lifespan gets high enough, but if the majority picks another neighborhood... so be it. WHEN we do, we will announce it in advance (no buying without letting people know) and anyone interested can all buy houses in that neighborhood. I will go with whatever neighborhood has the most small and deluxe houses. This way we can have a lot of the kin together. When this day comes, if you don’t have enough to buy a small house, I will personally help with the procurement of a small house in our area :)
Guild Bank:
This is one of the reasons we do not want to grow too fast. I would like to have the kin house banks open to all the kin. Hopefully, we can have a 'take a penny, leave a penny' type bank. If you take something, you should try to leave something of equal value. If it doesn’t work out that way, valuable items will be kept separately and the kin banks can just be used for quest items / inexpensive recipes / pages / and general junk that no one wants to keep.
Leaders:
Do we want officer responsibilities? class leaders? Heck, anyone want to actually be the kin master? If I stay kin leader, it will be a very hands off type of leading... just to let you know. So if you are looking for me to be "in charge" of all sort of crap, you might want to have someone take the reigns.. I don’t have that type of time anymore :P
Recruitment:
Anything specific you want to discuss? Any leads on good players? Send them to the boards or have them talk to kitty (I think she has a macro to kin invite people) lol.
Crafting:
One thing I don’t care for is charging kin members for crafting. Please don’t. If someone brings all the mats, a crafting scholar note, and the recipe; you should be willing to craft those items for them when it is convenient for you IF they are planning on wearing it. Granted, tips are always nice.
If they are just making it for the AH, this does not apply and feel free to work a fee out if you so choose.
Any other topics to discuss?

i think you about got em all nanuq! i do not have a macro! lol..but im social..and picky! we have some good solid players, who are all capable at thier classes..and not idiots :P i dont really think we need an "in-charge" type of leader..tho it does seem that i get alot of ppl together to do something..its always a play by ear kind of thing. unfortunately the Malice kin GM does not want to let go..so waiting it is for the house, and yes..i still vote hobbit! i think the big priority atm is getting everyone on these boards so we can start planning bigger raids...and yes...i plan to start running the rift soon..tho i define soon as after the holiday season..i have a life!!!! lol As for the kin chest..i trust all the kin members we have atm to browse thru my house..so i dont think it will be that great of a worry..obviously if one person raids it all and puts on AH..that person is out imo! as for officer responsibilities, thats for the gm and officers to discuss..we only have a few officers (the original group that left the avari) but honestly, if it makes someone happy to be an officer..meh, i dont really care (only good thing i like about being an officer is the ability to invite) like i said..all mature, capapble players. As for crafting, i havent seen anything greedy so far, and i think me, fume and kaol are the only 50's that arent gm anything..kaol is working metalsmiting gm..just needs AI..so help if you like! im grinding the last of the scholar gm (omg relics and indigo plzplzplz) my only few concerns is the few non-50's..bactatank (minstrel) altimar (hunter) and when he joins..valdis (hunter). lets get these guys up together..its hard in a kin full of 50's to not have one and join in kin raids and groups..and gear for the mains. I'd like to see every main in good gear and weapons..yes..i cant make them..but i can farm mats and commision. some of us (like me and fume) have more then one high toon..but kitty is getting there, fume is getting there..quite literally, when we bring our mains to a raid, id like to see a well armed, well armored group, we have every gm but metalsmith, theres no reason for crappy gear..doesnt have to be the single use items, even reg armor critted is a good start..to each their own to find mats for hard to get stuffs (rec, shard, etc) but reg rec can still produce good items. the drop rate sucks on the turtle claws, but as ill be progressively out farming them more (for mika) anyone can join and roll. ok..i think thats about it from me :)

Kitty and I were having a discussion about housing last night. Since we wont be able to buy a kin house for a while still, we were thinking of our options. If we agree that the hobbit area is the place we will end up buying a kin house, then we might be able to start buying our personal houses now and wait for the kin house option to open.
We are thinking about buying up the houses in an area and then buying the kin house later (kin houses do not seem to be going fast at all). There are at least two kin houses that I wouldn't mind in the hobbit land (both are close to the exit and the merchants / vault). Assuming we bought houses in an area that has both of these kin houses currently open, I 99.9% sure one of them will be available when our kin lifespan is high enough for a kin house.
How many people are wanting to buy a house in the hobbit area if we do this? and what size house are you wanting (small / deluxe)?

I'm not picky about where the kin house is. Mine is in Bree-Land Homesteads and the entire kin has access to my house and chests (I think, might have turned it off, if I did I'll turn it on tonite). There are epic quest items, crafting crit items (high-end and low-end), some jewelery and other miscellaneous crap in there. Please take what you need, if you have something you don't need that someone could use you're welcome to drop it in there. The only non-kin that have this kind of access to my house is Nimawey and Lucin (who has been putting ore and MM silver ingots in there for some reason).
House is at 6 Chestnut Rd. Corgrove. The one with the gazebo in the yard if I got the number wrong. Lucin is in the house behind mine buried in the forest.
As for officers, I think it is running pretty smooth right now, may need to adjust as we grow.
Been working on Pelthyr this week, captain my captain. Level 27, 28 soon, he is working on Weaponsmithing, but not too high yet. Should be master in first two tiers by the end of this week. So, if you've got barrow or regular iron ore that you don't need that would be a great help.
Hraland is GM Cook, and will be GM Jeweller as soon as I sit down and grind out some MM silver to finish levelling.

We have a lot of GM crafters atm if anyone needs something made.
GMs -
Jewellers (Polarbeer, Professorchaos)
Scholar (LLaelyn, Dangar)
Weaponsmith (Wodden)
Tailor (Nanuq, and I think Kaol)
Armorsmith (I dont know if we have a GM, but I though Kaol was working on it)
Woodworking (I dont know if Pure if GM yet)
Anyone able to update this list?

Hi Everyone, I finally got around to registering on the forums here. Great to see the discussions going on.
- On housing, I was never a fan of the dwarf caves and would prefer somewhere more green, but I am not really picky. I have a house in the cave now but can adandon whenever. My only other input would be to try to find somewhere that is semi close to bank/vendors and is not a long run from the homestead entrance. This is the other issue I had with the Avari kin house, that it was on the opposite corner from the exit meaning I rarely went there because I didn't like having to ride out every time.
- I have a lvl15 hunter alt, Hesig, that is nearly a GM farmer if anyone needs that. I am GM weaps and will make anything on commission for those with recs/mats (and usually have a few extra mats lying around), no tips needed :) This includes weaps for mid lvl alts which I can crit out of the book pretty consistently.
- Officer responsibilities: I am up for anything reasonable and I play at least 5 times a week.
- Maelstrom: I ran Fornost with a nice guy from Malstrom last night, from the group that has beaten the whole rift including the balrog and made a good contact. He said he would be willing to help us out if we got very stuck or point us in the right general direction on boss strats (though he said he'd be shot if he told exactly how to beat balrog lol! wouldn't want him to anyway).
Great forums and will stop by here more often.

Oh, yeah. Make sure we have a designated successor for Kin leader. Just in case.
And I'm rather partial to the hands-off approach. Unlike some Kin's. :bang:

lol hral..*hugs* nice to see you guys on the forums! feel free to browse the other games, den and political forums..good group of people in the lions (the lotro lions are a good example to look at..then imagine the people base on other games) so far, i dont see any negative hobbit kin house remarks *hurray* but the two kin houses me and nanuq looked at were close to ent, its close to MD (swift travel almost everywhere) and..its not in a cave! besides..hobbit houses are TOO CUTE! omg..so cute..

It looks like we are buying houses in Whinshot (hobbit-land).
We plan on buying the center house for the kin house. 4 Brookbank, i believe. Our 2nd choice if that one is gone will be 2 Chalk (the kin house next to the enterance to the housing area).
Feel free to start buying whenever you want. We have several weeks before we can buy the kin house, so you haev plenty of time. Last I checked there was 6-7 of each size house open.

Hiya everyone! it does'nt really matter to me where the kin house goes, i'm just glad i'll be able to port there when im in the middle bfe :) I like the idea of having an open kin chest to those who are in kin, and i hope that future recruits will understand the "take a penny, leave a penny" mentality. I have some crafting stuff in my house, which is open to all kin members; 1 grorsvall in thorins....first left from the door, feel free to help yourself, just let me know what u take please.
ps- i'm proud of my avatar :) yay!
