Rift Raid Discussion

What we need:

A couple more people. We have champs and guardians it seems, but could use at least one more of each class to round us out. We seem to be short hunters, which i find odd. LMs, Burg, and Capts seem to be in short supply server wide. Of course, there is always more room for healers too. We need everyone out there looking for new recruits, but keep in mind that we are not Avari and we are not just recruiting for the sake of recruiting. Look for good attitude, trustworthiness, and skill.

What we have:

We have at least 6-8 people that are ready to raid the rift. We also have several people that have experience in the rift and we should be able to lead it and make it a lion rift raid.

What I would like input on:

1. Looting systems. DKP or not to DKP. Straight rolls? What if we have to PUG a few classes to fill up the raid? DKP is not fair in this case. Alternatives?
2. Raid leaders. Who feels comfortable with at least some portions of the rift and who would be willing to help organize / lead.
3. Do we form an alliance to raid rift? We have access to good players in the dream channel and through our friends lists. When we form raids I would like to see lion invites and then search for others. Do you know anyone that wants to raid with us consistantly (maybe we can make them honorary lions)?

Any other thoughts?

ive talked to mall, D, and alaena..all are willing to go if i lead, so if they are on and not commited, im comfortable saying we can fill with them (that way fume can go instead of pure, and polar can go instead of llael) i think i got everyone..tho i have the feeling i may be missing someone..

as for leading, im confident i know the raid up to the balrog (ive never done him) and once i do..then ill be comfortable leading the entire raid..tho i dont always wanna be the raid leader.

as for loot..i hate master loot for all, but if looting during a raid is a problem..then i will master loot all, at each boss ill /roll for the boss items, random crap will be saved till the end and /roll..top whatever many rolls gets to pick. im not familiar with the dkp system, but at first, id like to see how solid of a consistent raid group we can have before changing my loot rules. If you win an armor gem, you do not get to roll again for another gem..lets keep it fair..also i would preffer if you didnt roll for a gem to replace an epic (ie. kitty wont roll on helm, bp, gloves gems as she has war-captains) lets get everyone in epic gear or rift gear before we start worrying about multiple sets. ok, thats about it..this month is a bad month for me to start raids..this weekend was my bday..next is work xmas party, weekend after that is pushing xmas, and last one is new years..im looking at the first weekend after new years as the start of my raid schedule, the class composisition in kin may have changed by then :)

Well as we're all on speaking terms, I'm a big fan of Roll/Pass and if someone gets a drop that you desire mightly, ask. Or if we get a good drop, then after it is picked up anyone that wants to can /roll 100 on it and high score gets the drop. So long as it's stated upfront that those are the drop rules I think we'll be ok.

PUG's are a whole different story and think we should go Master Looter then and /roll 100 on good drops.

My biggest concern is wipes, I took a beating last time I went in there and don't feel that I'm properly equipped to do it too many times in a row. I really need to finish my epics and get mats so I can get new shoulders and shoes. So if you need me I'll go, but I'm not going to be requesting Rift raids until I'm better prepared.

So if you see me on Pelthyr, I'm trying to get him raid ready, so Kitty isn't the only captain in the group. While they kill slower than champs, they are not as squishy as some people think they are.

Straight rolls are fine, but I do agree that even with straight rolls you shouldnt be able to get more than one gem per run.

The looting in the Rift is really not as complicated. Mathematically, we really only need to run the rift 12 times to get everyone their gear. So after a few runs, you will probably notice that only 1/2 the raid will even need an item.

Granted that is dependant on how consistant the group stays.. which i am sure it wont always be the same 12 people.

im thinking not full lion raids..a full lion raid, we almost dont need a raid leader..and once we've run thru a time or two together, there is no need for a raid leader..if we have a full lion raid, i totally agree roll/pass :)

I like the roll/pass system if we have a non-pug group, and as far as rec's, we have every gm crafter out there (not sure about a woodworker), so roll, and then ask for the item to be made :) I also agree with the one gem per run, hopefully that way it'll be more balanced gear-wise. I also would'nt mind inspecting fellow lions and determining who needs what the most. Personally don't need leggings or shoulders :)

I'm furiously leveling my Captain. At 28.5 right now. Hopefully 30 by the end of the day today (wife want's to do x-mas shopping today so maybe not, we'll see).

Hraland is always available to put the smack down on mobs, but I'm really wanting to finish my epics and get Controlled Burn slotted. Need to upgrade my boots, gloves and/or shoulders. But those are mirrored crafted items so not too concerned about loot. But I'd like to come out with positive silver next time. PLEASE!!!!

I am always Avalable when I am on Alaena for a Rift run. I am very comfortable with Kitty leading a Raid. If she doesnt feel like it I can lead also I know quite a bit of it now.
I dont like DKP system to much because it is unfair to people who dont normally go with you and are filling a spot.
I like Roll/Pass but frankly I am fine with any loot rool as long as it is done fairly.
As a side note, I am very happy to be here with you guys and looking forward to Rifting it up with you:)

I like the the free re-roll system personally, it sucks to roll a 13 on a peice of rift gear, and then a 99 for some beryls or crap reciepe, lol. glad to have u here with us alaena :)

I also like the roll/pass system. It seems to cause a lot less heartache but I am also new to some of these aspects of the game. As far as schedule Noveah and I are on every night from 9:30PM - 1:00AM (sometime later). I think Frothy may be ready now that he has reached 50 and Noveah is close behind at the edge of leveling to 49.
