The Tf2 game runs fine but the steam dashboard seems a bit slow to unresponsive to me. I havnt been able to upload a pic yet into my profile.

I haven't really had any issue with the dashboard, but I tend to access it when I'm not really doing much, as in dead on the server or on the load menu.

I have been playing demo nonstop personally. I am getting pretty decent with the pipebombs. They aren't as useful on all-offense maps, but still can be fun if the enemy is really fortified.

nice games mr. mOreton - not much teamwork going on in them but i imagine you are still learning the maps and classes and whatnot so no biggie ...

i think im kind of screwed as far as trying to get good at this game goes , i need to crank my mouselook speed way up to react fast enough and for some reason its not working like it did in UT , i cant reliably get my aim and bearings quickly enough , im starting to think it might just be my age lol ...

Okay, this TF2 stuff is fun. So far I've only played the rocket guy as I'm trying to learn the maps and stuff. I like how simple everything is. And it was cool seeing Malky and following him into a server with all the MyU guys, seeing all those familiar names gave me a warm feeling in my tummy. Then I farted.

Ya, I loaded all of the games from the Orange Box... but have only played TF2.
Portal looks interesting, should check it out soon.

Did any of you ever play TeamFortress when it was free? I think it was based on the Quake engine (maybe the UT, not sure) Anyhow, it was a mod that you downloaded. Some of the maps are similar, the rest are new though.

My favorites so far... Medic, Sniper and Engieer.

Teach me... how do you play spy? How do you go stealth? Just hit the Device (I think it was #3)

Portal is distilled Jesus in game form. So yeah. Try it out.

also, complete it in one sitting. It's only a couple hours long, so it shouldn't be hard, but if you stop in the middle you won't feel the same at the end.

When you get on Steam, do a search for Legion of Lions.

You'll see the group. Go into the LoL group thingy (you'll see a picture of our nuts) and you can click on members' status. It'll show you who's online and where they are.

Next step is to spam friend invites to everyone. If someone's online you can chat to them and if they right click your name they can invite you to the LoL group.

I played the ol TF back in the day almost obsessantly. I am thoroughly addicted to the engineer. On most maps you'll find me banging away working on Morety's Mom.

stealth is the right mouse button , just click it dont hold it , it has a timer on the bottom right of the screen - and you arent always fully stealthed , sometimes people can partially see you even far away ...

the mask is for disguising yourself , and the device thing is for sapping enemy constructs like sentries and dispensers ...

and don't forget, you can use the sapper device on engineer's equipment while masked--and sentry guns won't shoot you while you're masked, so it's useful behavior.

spies are easier to play on ff seevers (though I'm seeing less of those now). Obviously, engineers have a harder time if they don't want to piss off their teammates. Demomen have a much harder time with ff on too.

BTW another test for spies is that you can walk through teammates, but not enemies, so if you bump into somebody of the same color, shoot away!

Yeah, and there's like a second transition time from when you drop stealth until when you can attack.

The idea is to use stealth to get behind the enemy lines and then move with the flow of the team until you get an opportunity to kill someone, stealth, and redisguise. The disguise is important--you need to pick something plausible and work to pretend you are that thing.

Yes, one tactic that sometimes works is to go in with a teammate, disguise yourself as some non offensive class and have that teammate attack you infront of the enema.
