Also I checked Mythic's official WAR site and I seem to recall there used to be a question in the FAQ about whether or not WAR would be available on the Mac. The answer was along the lines that WAR was being developed for PC only. Now that entire question is gone. Perhaps this is part of EA's influence, to milk the franchise in the exponentially expanding console arena... Time will tell.

The game should be entirely playable on an intel mac, running Bootcamp. That's how my husband plays most of his PC games, since he has a quad processor Mac Pro to tool around on.

This was rumor a long time ago, I think before even EA came into the picture. There was also a help-wanted ad for a console programmer up by Mythic a long while back too. There default statement was they were developing WAR for the PC but the clues were always pointing to a multi-platform game.

My point wasn't about the Mac, it was about the statement that the game was being developed for PC ONLY. That statement is now gone (at least I can't find it), so that might open the door not just for Macs but also for consoles.

BTW, it does run on his Mac with BootCamp... He was bitching about not being able to play (I'm strict on the NDA, too much at stake for me to risk it, since I'm an internal DAOC tester as well), when I told him to log into his beta center just in case.... Status: Invited.

He's playing now. :)

Yes, something very strange going on with the "emailings". I never got a beta invite nor have I received info on how to join the beta message groups. I even checked my Spam for the last few days and saw nothing, although the invite may be a bit older.

Just in case you didn't find it already, the information for the beta groups is in your beta center as well.
