I just started playing WoW again, got my Priest to 70, got my flying mount, got my tailoring to 375 and made my primal mooncloth set.
I wish the expansion was out now so I could just skip all the stupid Raiding crap lol.

You already got your whitemend set?
You got your Gavel of Pure Light or Shard of the Virtuous?
Got your epic flyer? (5k gold)
Canidae's healing is just over +1900 buffed.. (non-crit 5k, crit 8k).
We only raid Karazhan... otherwise we're doin' heroics and such.. (and have been for months now)
It doesnt have to be about raiding. :)

So all that stuff's going to be useless again? I like how the Lich King looks like the Witch King (LotR). Besides, this is going to come out close to the same time as Warhammer. It's Blizzard's attempt to head off the competition.

Mo called it. Blizzards answer to keeping folks is more of the same. They just raise the lvl cap again and add new raiding stuff. They have yet to fix, and have even made worse, the disparity between those who have and those who don't (Time for long raiding)

I still love Warcraft. I'm in a great guild, busy all the time - lots to do and get.
No complaints, atm.

Actually they have. It's quite easy actually. Heroics, 5 man runs. Guess you haven't really played in a few months.

You're kidding right Mo?
WoW has no competition.

As much as I hope Warhammer is great... even if it's great... it won't pull numbers like WoW. Warhammer has been created and mostly only appeals to the North America and European markets. WoW in contrast has appealed to the entire world.

EA Mythic today announced that more than 300,000 players have signed up for the Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) closed beta test. In little more than a month, EA Mythic's highly-anticipated Warhammer Online has amassed a growing army of willing participants in Europe and North America, making the beta one of the most popular in massively multiplayer gaming history.
That's beta sign ups. You think WoW isn't worried?

War is going to sap from the WoW player base... And even if WAR only has a strong following in NA and EU one must not forget that is were a large chunk of the worlds wealth is.

I would guess they pay by the month model that people are used to in the US and Europe is more profitable then the how they are funded in the Asia where I believe i read they have different payment options and are not required to buy a box game

Anybody who PvPs is going to beeline to EAMythic. That leaves WoW with plain ol' PvE, which is where they thrive anyway.

Have you not seen all the PvP options in WoW lately?
Teams: 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 (includes rankings, auto-matching).. new Battleground style (mix of CTF & Domination)
I don't even PvP much, but it's got a huge following.

CTF? Domination?
Where's the Flak Cannon?

In reasonable gear a uber geared mage insta nuke you to death... fun fun. WoW PvP blows unless you do the larger raids, then maybe you can stand a chance.

to have meaningful PvP there needs to be some sort of item cap.
in WoW the better your gear the better your toon is
in DAoC even if you had an item that gave +1000 to all Stats, +100 to all skills, +50 to all resists you would still not be more powerful than most other players thanks to real caps on bonuses you can gain from items.
I hope it is similar in WHO

"Items" as rewards are a broken philosophy in the first place. WoW's PvP sucks because you get just as many points using a macro to jump up and down. It's a simple grind to all your large BG items, which you need if you want to have any fun in the arena. It's stupid.
