I got an email inviting me to the Warhammer beta but it arrived on June 7th. I was out of the country until today and it says if you don't validate within 3 days you lose your chance. ROFL oh well I guess it wasn't meant to be...

Man that sucks :(

Anything you can do to appeal it, or beg to be let in?

Solomente

Doubtful but I sent an email asking about it.

This is what it says:

If you have already validated your account, please ignore the following email.
We will begin purging Beta Center accounts in 3 days so validate your account
now!

Have you tried validating it anyways?

Hmmm, that message sounds like it has more to do with setting up the beta account (which we all did a few weeks back) as opposed to getting in the beta.

I kinda agree... They purged unvalidated accounts to keep the pools clean, so to speak.

Did it say "welcome to the beta" or thanks for creating your account, please validate?

Solomente

It gave me a user name (my email address) and a validation code, along with a link where to enter them. When I enter them, it says invalid entry... presumably because I've already been deleted out of the list after 3 days.

And knowing how this stuff works, I highly doubt they'll even reply to my email. Imagine how many hundreds of emails they get every day from people trying to scam a beta spot by saying they got an invitation but it's not working. I'm sure my email will get ignored if it even gets read.

Either way, you should probably resubmit your beta application by visiting this link: https://betacenter.eamythic.com/signup.php

You should receive a confirmation like the first one by email after you complete the application. Then you need to confirm the account and submit a DXDIAG file to complete your application.

If you actually received the second, you would have already confirmed your account, submitted the DXDIAG file, and after the first snipped, you'd have the additional information you'd need to join the beta. If you didn't receive the second, then you just need to recreate your account because you weren't quite to the invited to beta phase yet. They purged the database of all incomplete applications.

And I never submitted a DXDIAG the first time I signed up.

Ivyrielle

Ok, so your application was incomplete (that's what the email prompt was for, validation and get the dxdiag submitted), and has been purged.

Use the link I gave above to reapply for beta.

The (sorta) good news is you didn't actually miss out on an invite. ;) The bad news is you didn't actually miss out on an invite!

So, Ivy, does your screen shots indicate that you ARE in the beta test?

I really hope so! A girl gets lonely without people she knows around to harass, er, play with.

I figure that the Lions Guild acceptance should come any day now; then I just need to return to grovelling to the mighty, uberest playa evah, Morety.

Yeah. I really would be surprised if the guild doesn't get invites.

Ivyrielle

Just for perspective... There were 10,000 guild beta applications.

There were over 200,000 individual applicants in the first 10 days of the beta applications.

I highly doubt that half those people played DAoC. As such I would think the chance is still higher then some would think.

Well, few people have our hardcore experience. For instance, my conc shout spec battle bard, the terror of all 2 of you who barely remember it, was not a common sight. Most people went for cheesy imba selections like mentalists or like...minstrels. Or whatever. I kind of forget. Wasn't the game just riding a horse past mag mal over and over again?

anyway, clearly Ivy will hook us up. Right? Right? Use your mind ray.

If I can swing influence for 2 guilds, you know it.

Believe me, I WANT more people to play with. I get lonesome.
