If I bolt my mob twice, then cast my 9 second stun, DD twice. Can I then cast my 8 second stun and Throw two more bolts in his face? I think if it was possible, I could still manage to get another couple of DD's off before the mob was on me.

I know this would kill my power pool, but it might be worth a try.

I think stun duration gets cut almost in half on subsequent stuns, even if you use the lower powered one. I do something similar, though, to solo oranges. I use the following sequence:

-Best bolt
-2nd best bolt
-Quickcast stun
-DD snare (ensures mob is moving MUCH slower when stun wears off)
-Best DD
-Best DD
-Best DD (if needed)

This is a friggen mana drain from hell, but it feels good to kick an orange MOBS ass. :)

Why bother quick casting the stun if you're doing it from max range like that? If you're starting from bolt range, you should have enough time to get off at least two or three normal casting time stuns... (and if it actually takes that many, just run like Forrest) :fuct:

Another good tactic I use is to not try stunning unless one of my DD's is resisted... then I can use the QC for another DD. This usually gets the mob low enough that it snares iteself by being almost dead. That gives me the time to run a few steps away and DD again to kill it. But again, if the bolts miss or if too many DD's get resisted, then sometimes a QC stun is good to give you time to run (like Forrest)...

Either way, I only QC stun if it's absolutely needed. It burns TONS of power and results in a lot of downtime. Then again using stun at all burns tons of power.

Tried it out this morning.

Bolt/bolt/9 second stun

DD/DD/8 second stun

DD/bolt/bolt

I really like the snare idea, but I dont have room for it on my bar...might have to make room. If I am going to use it, it would follow the 8 second stun, to waste a little more time to get the timers reset for my bolts.

My test mob is an orange con(to46) Siabra Wayguard, worth 39 mill xp.:owned:

The only time I use the quickcast is on orange con mobs. When fighting oranges (especially fast moving ones), I need that stun to hit asap or else I'll be kiting my ass off before it's over. I would like to hear more about how using the two different stuns worked. If you don't lose half the time on the second one, that could be a nice modification to my routine.

best thing about using both stuns, is that you can kill some time and get both your bolts off for a second time.

worst thing is that it really sucks down the power. If I pull both stuns, I can get 4 DD's off before the mob gets a chance to move, and still have time left over to throw my bolts again before he gets close. While still retaining my quickcast for a last hope DD.

Last experiment will be to see if the two timers stack, but I highly dobt that. The one should overide the other.
