Not sure if they're exact quotes, but pretty damn close. This is the talk on alliance chat at about 330am this morning.

A group of Albs had taken all the keeps in Hibernia except for Behnn and Scaithaig. Mullet logged off and logged on as Ailia who just happened to be parked in Behnn ;). Crank the volume up to level 10 :)

There was a lot of bickering and no organization on alliance chat at the time. I told them that Behnn was now at 10 and that the doors were upgraded and to get out there to defend. Elmafutero got past a ton of /as bs and was also calling for the Hib's to do the same.

Mullet was holding out on his own there as Ailia for about 10-15 minutes before some Hib's started showing up. Suddenly, Hibernians were answering the call to action.

The albs had the inner door of our nut-keep down to about 50% when they suddenly threw a ram on it. They ended up getting it down but by the time they broke in, there were enough Hibbies there to defend it and watch the Albs release.

Our upgraded doors, ability to log in as Ailia who just happened to be camped there because we were defending our keep, let us beat back the Albs :)

Our pride in our nuts was shown today. I believe Phantos and Cruseydr have some screenies of the actual chat after the successful defence.

Damn it's good to be a Lion. You all rock.

Yeah that was a blast. It was pretty frustrating trying to get the small group of Hibs that we had to do anything. Begme, Aztian and myself had run off to check Lamf while the Albs were attacking Bolg. Since Lamf was clear we decided we should head to Bolg to try and beat off the Albs. We tell our group (we were in a full group of 8) that we're heading to Bolg and to meet us there. Ditto for the CG we had going which had maybe 15 people in it. Nobody moved. We 3 got there, killed one alb before getting steamrolled, released, rode back to DL to find everyone just standing around.... grrrrrrrrrrrr....

After Bolg fell, it was *still* a pain in the ass to get everyone moving. Kobenator, Shaqattacka and Vigzor had moved off on their own and got to Bolg before anyone else (except Mullet as Alli, of course) and made it inside the keep. Me and Begme finally decided at the same time to just screw it and move on out. If nobody followed, then whatever, at least we weren't just standing around. I was ran off first, not caring if anyone was following, hugging the E wall out of DL when I was shot by an archer and my BT fell. She plinked me again for 1/2 my health as I was running up the hill to find her. Saw her, yellow con, QC stun, nuke the crap outta her. Stun wore off and she charged a couple more nukes brought her down to the point where her running speed was impaired and I managed to finish her off before she got to me. Begme had managed to get our small group moving (down to about 5 or 6 of us now) and they waited for me down the path. We finally moved off to Behnn as a group. Got there when the albs were on the 2nd door and managed to barely get inside. We all had only a sliver of health left when we ported in, but none of us died.

Once inside the keep defense consisted of 3 pbaoe'rs (Kobe, Arrkahhos and Vigzor) taking potshots at the albs through the door. The albs were doing their own pbaoe's at us as well. The keep walls had at least three infiltrators on them, so I was basically stuck to healing the pbaoe'rs so they wouldn't die.

We managed to beat them off the inner door once, and someone yelled charge, so a bunch of us ran out and got killed. That almost doomed our defense right there. I managed to convince the gatekeeper to port me before I died, so he ported my dead body in :D

After recovering from the deadly charge the albs got reinforcements and got their ram up. We kept trying the pbaoe thing, but they were knocking the door down pretty quickly now. It finally came down to the KL room. We all ran up to the KL room. I stayed a little bit down the ramp to watch the albs pour in. I got off two of my ranged aoe dd's before I got one-shotted by an alb bolt. Damn fire wizzies. Our pbaoe'rs nuked the crap out of them as they were coming up, and the KL and the meleers took them out when a few of them made it to the room. At one point there were only about 5 albs left alive and they were just standing on the ramp (being dead on the ramp I had a pretty good vantage point). The pbaoe'rs kept nuking the crap out of them and Quakz strolled down and picked them off one by one.

Kobe, Cru and some others got to repairing, Mull as Alli a,d Nevilim got to rezzing, and I got to sleeping :D

All in all it was a frustrating, yet enjoyable and rewarding experience.

Way to go guys!! I wondered if making those trips out to upgrade the doors would ever be useful and it sounds like it was just enough to delay those dirty Albs;). You guys are great(crazy) for staying up so late to defend;)

I'm bumping this to show a point I'd like to make.

This shows what the Lions once represented to our fellow Hibernians. We made life hell on anyone trying to take one of our keeps, no matter where it was. We had a great reputation.

This weekend, we took Hurbury on Friday night. It took time, preperation and a good chunk of money. Ludo spent hours making sure we had rams, I spent over a plat on wood for repairs/ugprades, and many others spent their hard earned coin.

When we lost Hurby on Saturday afternoon, there were maybe 4 Lions defending out of (about) 15 who were online. I died 3 times trying to get wood to Hurby on Saturday afternoon for repairs. At one point I'd asked that people try to log their mains in the keep to defend if needed while levelling their twinks.

Comments were flying around /gu such as "I hope they take it so the guardspam stops" etc.

I was disappointed to hear this.

If we take and claim a keep, we should be showing pride and defending it at all costs. This takes a team effort. While I will never tell anyone how to play this game, it would have been nice to see a little self sacrifice and made life hell on the Albs who tried to take it back. For the Lions.

I'm one of the guilty ones who didn't show up to defend ... I was having fun playing my alt. :/

Every once in a while, RvR gets old and I need to take a break. This was one of those times. I've had /as turned off for the last week, turning down gank squads, and generally ignoring everything RvR related.

If it had been a Lions keep in our home realm, I would have definitely come to defend, whether I was in the mood or not ... that's a matter of realm defense. But honestly, I don't feel the same responsibility toward a keep in an enemy realm, unless it's part of a bigger raid. Still, had someone messaged me and said, "Can you come to Hurb?" I would have. I just didn't realize that people were seriously trying to hang on to it and having trouble doing so.

You make a good point, Morety. Being in this guild is awesome. And along with the many perks of being a Lion comes the responsibility to represent the name. It's a name that means a lot to me ... being good-natured, helping other people, and defending the realm ... all a part of being a Lion. If I was guilty of not living up to my own standards of being a Lion, I apologize. I'll try to be more observant in the future.

As someone who this is probably directed at, I would like to state my side of what happened on Saturday.

First of all - when I logged on as Fig in Hurb, I rezzed and rezzed and rezzed till I died. Then I lay there for 1/2 an hour watching the action all around me. Basically an instant replay of what happened the night before. On that night I spent the last of my cash buying wood - no big - I don't mind doing that stuff - I don't craft - I give away all my cash to crafters and to keep upkeep.

But I was bored stupid of lying face down in the grass. DF was open for the first time in a long time - that'd >I'd< seen - seems usually to be open when I'm at work...anyway I went there to farm some cash - to help upgrade keeps and take them - for the guild!

So I think it's kind of unfair to get really pissed about it.

Though it does seem to be my week to piss off Lions...

Good post, Morety. I know I was guilty of being quick to determine that I had no time to make it out there, so I didn't try. Truthfully, I probably wouldn't have made it in time because I was parked in frigging Necht or AF or something, but I feel badly now that I didn't even try. Since then I've tried to ensure that Gondo is in some RvR friendly location so that at worst I'm a short hop from porting or running into the frontier. I'll be there if needed in the future or at least try to be there. Just yell loud, because all this crafting is turning me into a mindless zombie. :)

Guilty, I dinged 48 in a DF group before logging Ord for the second and third defense. I was glad I got there in time to defend but the truth is I wouldn't have made it if the first defense hadn't held. The thing that makes me feel it's futile is they always seem to wait until hardly anyone is on to take our keeps back. I normally wouldn't have been on at the time they took that keep. It seems most times I go take and defend a keep during primetime only to log back on the next night and find that it's taken. Usually with little or no resistence. Ord is parked in hurbury as we speak, wonder if he'll log to instance death tonight?
