Since LoL is across so many game platforms and servers, maybe it'd be a good idea to have some rules for the Warhammer one? I'm not saying be guild nazis, but it'd be nice if it doesn't turn out to be something like the Fianna.

Is this where I get to /rude? :P

Yep, you're right. It would be horrible to have a strong guild for 5 years or so, and be #13 in RPs across all servers in the game, and have a rep as a reliable and friendly bunch of people in pve & rvr. Seriously. Don't do that!

I don't think he was bashing the Fianna as much as saying we should figure some stuff out before we segment anymore then we need to. We are VERY restrictive on inviting to LoL and because of that our growth does not allow for many different servers (Issue with WoW).

That said I think it is to earily to really decide what we are doing, and as such this is most likely not going to be all that productive of a thread.

Guild Guidelines:

• Have fun!
• Play (the game) with friends – a sense of community
• To make a collective force, to do things we alone cannot
• To do good in the game being played – aiding others without expectation of reward

Guild goals:

• Become a respected guild. One that is known to be trustworthy and friendly. One that is known to be honest and honorable.
• Group with others of similar levels (guild first, others second)
• Aid other guild members on quests (as well as others asking for aid)

Guild perks:

• Assist others in getting their trade skills started
• Pass down unneeded items & equipment to make it easier for the lower level characters to advance (small fee acceptable for items you paid money for).
• Grouping with those you can trust.
• Assistance with quests
• Raising (resurrecting) those we can reach in a reasonable amount of time
• RvR/PvP training (when available)
• A ready ear, spell or sword.

Guild guidelines:

• At any time you run into a situation where someone is being an ass or doing something that bothers you, ALWAYS take it to either Morety or an Officer (Ordair, Mulletia, Ailia Boom). Please don't make matters worse by belittling them or attempting to do something that makes the Legion of Lions look like assholes.
• Never camp an area to the point others feel they are not welcome.
• Never steal someone’s kill (if they’re already fighting it, it’s theirs).
• Help those in need (those running from a beast or nearly dead unable to run). Even if you think you might die, try. The gratitude that person will have will long out last the “lost time” of leveling. (If there is no chance of assisting, tell them to wait, and see if a healer is in the area.)
• Guild is family. Always treat each other with care and friendship.
• Remember it’s a game. Don’t get frustrated. Don’t be too proud to ask for help.
• Enjoy the game. If you’re not having fun, let’s talk about it. Don’t look at those little blue bubbles as time invested in the game – think of them as experience in the world of Hibernia with your friends. Losing a bubble just means you get more time to explore the possibilities with others.

Those are our rules. If any member of the Lions feels they want to use the LoL name in another game, it's expected they'll follow this set of rules.

That being said, I expect that if any member of the Lions feels strongly enough about our guild that they want to use our name, they'll be following the above rules without reading them. That's what we've always been about. Fun first.

...besides, I'll definitely be starting up the guild in Warhammer. We're also going to be playing together, come hell or high water, on the same server this time around.

Our guild mission used to be posted on our UT board, and it was well written. Unfortunately I can't find it. Maybe Jammer still has it as he had setup the original EZ board site we'd used.

ps <3 Fianna! That was simply a bad guild choice to use for this example. I have nothing but top respect for their guild.

"Never camp an area to the point others feel they are not welcome."

Do you mean camp a PvE area to the point where its overbearing to the rest of the realm members, or don't allow an enemy combatant to get the opportunity to recover their body ala WoW?

Because I'll admit, from time to time in DAoC, I made places like DF a living hell for albion lowbies :)

It's almost funny how negative I feel towards albion even to this day.

Depending upon how alliances are set up, is there any consideration for the guild to be set up on two divisions, one being for hardcore PvP? Depending on what my time looks like, I may be a tad Nazi'ish when it comes to PvP.

Well, somewhere between Hitler and Lariac.

The plan for the game is to be setup well for those who are PVE, those who are PVE/PVP and those who are just PVP all the same with the hopes that the majority are in the middle crown. I don't think there is going to be any problems with having a mix of players.

In the Alpha version I played at GenCon they had a huge zone much like a WoW zone, the only difference was there was no flag if the zone was PVP or not (like the contested areas in WoW), instead the entire zone was a normal PVE area and then in one corner of it was a PVP designated area. Every zone is going to be like this, so you can PVE then if you want go into the PVP area as well, there will be zone specific quests in the PVP area as well as long as things like Capture and Control and Resource Gathering items that helps everyone in the zone, even those who aren't doing PVP and are just hanging in the PvE areas. Also the plan is for People in the PVE areas to be able to help those in the PVP, so there might be the same type of quests that do something for those in the PVP area.

I wasn't insulting the Fianna, I just don't think that it'd be fun whatsoever to have 300 members across 12 games, 296 of which I don't really know. And I'll be damned if I'm going to try a multi-server guild.
