Where ever most of the Lions go.

Well NL, the point of this poll is to find out where we're going to plant. Not going to split up like in WoW
I just feel some of the best times we had in Hibernia were because we were the underdog so people had to "stick together in order to survive" so to speak. It wasn't until they boosted Hibernia and it became overpopulated where it had all of the issues other realms had already faced - bunches of jerks who will stab their realmmates in the back if it pushes them a little further ahead.
Until that happened (and after they nerfed Clerics and Healers), Druids had the biggest ratio compared to the rest of their realm. ie, more people were taking supporting classes in our realm than the other two. I like that kind of atmosphere, and it's more important to me than the artwork or the lore of side A versus side B.

I'm with post. I liked being in the underdog realm, which makes me think of going for the "least popular". We had great realm teamwork "back in the day".

I'm with the said above, least popular ;).

I can see right now how this is going to go
Chaos is going to be the popular realm, but some lions will want to go there anyway. Imo, the guild should only exist in one location despite that. Having LoL on 14 different WoW servers completely diluted it

they haven't announced any different rulesets yet have they?
Unfortunately, I can't blame the "chaos no matter what crowd", because I'm pretty much in the "lowest populated realm" crowd. It's just I can recall so well the mainstays of the early day of Mid/Hib/Alb, and how we were the only realm that was relatively free of the crap that was talked about with the other two for quite some time. Genocyde screwed over their realm by looting the dragon and then leaving, Saints told realm mates to screw off publicly so they could get more kills, etc.
It was a long time before we had to deal with that. Even our most "leet" guild (HG), was relatively friendly to the rest of the realm and even CKD wasn't bad at first. Then the population came with the balancing of Hibernia (Heroes got stag form, PBAoE was tuned), and then in came the bandwagoners, COMPLTELY SCREWING UP the "good" realm we had. From then on, you had to deal with your own realmmates killing the DF vendors, cross-realm communication, leet-guild mentalities, blah blah blah.
I for one would like to avoid that as much as possible until we're well enough established to where we aren't required to venture too far out of the guild in order to get anything accomplished.

I'm more interested in being the underdog, personally...than anything else. I don't care where, just as long as its not going to be overpopulated and full of retards (aside from us) :)
Yep, exactly, Hep!
being the underdog sounds best, though i didn't see hib as the lowest of the realms by far, i believe even in my time on daoc, we were still scrapping with mid a lot for who was bottom of the barrel that week.
being the highest population results in the most idiots, elitists and least challenge. not all the time, but most of the time.
MickeyFinn

To be honest with you guys, before Shrouded Isles was even a concept I'm fairly sure Midbarb was the least populated. Either way, I had a similar experience in that when it was empty was when we were a real team. The danes would team up and help us, guilds stuck together, it was great
Mid had the highest population until the CC nerf patch came about. Then about a third (yes, a third) of their population left.

My experience was (already in beta) that the corporation and attitude in Midgard was alot better than elsewhere. Mids setting is/was dark and the pve-setup was alot more difficult than in evergreen hibbylands so people sticked together and helped each other.
there is not half as much crazy aggro in hib than in mid.
the attitudes in hib improved however when we started to be overwhelmed in the frontiers.
man the game was soo cool when the whole realm (and all levels) suicided as soon as our keeps or relics were in danger and everyone charged out into the frontier.

If anything I just want to be on a realm with a community that is greater then just your guild... That is something I miss very much when I play WoW.

It doesn't really say much to say "the least popular". When WoW came out a lot of people assumed that the Horde would be least popular. Myself included. I'm not so sure that it really wound up that way, or that the "least popular" realm was actually better for everyone.
It would be more prudent I think to wait on voting until the class and race descriptions come out, perhaps with some screenshots. We'll be able to tell from that more accurately which is going to be least popular.
Just a thought...

Just a thought...FYI, alliance outnumbers horde somewhere between 1.2-1.5:1 globally. On RP and PVE servers it's worst, and PVP servers tend to be balanced best.
This is what I want to see : first, let's find out what server we're going to get. Location some where in central US, PvP. Next, if it looks like popularity between the two sides is relatively equal, then whatever most people prefer. If there's a popularity difference (which there tends to be when it comes to PvP servers and being "cool"), then the least popular.
Throughout all of the MMOG's I've played, the least populated tends to have the most friendly group of people - it's human nature. Getting that friendly "core" at first is important to me, and after that, I don't care where the population goes.

I agree, although it's not quite to the level of Alb vs. Everyone else that DAOC had... or at least in appearance.
Perhaps I haven't done my research, but I thought there was originally going to be more than just two sides to play on? If I remember correctly, the original number was supposed to be something like six different sides? I'm guessing that maybe they changed something since I last looked...

WoW was always 2 sides.

No, he meant warhammer.
There's going to be six races, three good and three bad last I'd heard.

RvR combat takes place on three fronts where ancient foes wage an unending war – Dwarfs vs. Greenskins, High Elf vs. Dark Elf, and Empire vs. Chaos. Players begin the game fighting their ancestral enemy, but are free to journey to other fronts to help their allies in their ongoing struggles

Its going to be tought at first.... it may take a few weeks to really get a feel for which is most popular. I also thought Horde was going to be least popular, and initially, I think it was. But, slowly, it changed over.
I also want the underdog side. But, more importantly, I want to keep the Lions alive, and I will join which ever is decided upon. I vote for the Good side... imo... most people want to play evil.
How was CoH? When the evil side became playable... how many of you, or, CoH players, simply dropped their Heros and played Villans? That will be a good indicator on what most of the population will play.
I always felt that Hib was the underdog...and have enjoyed that role.

I find that pretty hard to believe that an elven race will be the least popular. That goes against everything I've seen in any other game.
I would be surprised if Dwarves aren't the lowest population

problem is the devs themselves have said they are having most fun designing chaos, so it will attract most of the online community
plus you get to do non traditional missions like collect bodyparts to load hellcannons and such

I'm not totally decided on playing it yet but some family & friends left daoc until war comes out. So will wait to see where my family & friends go and play that. Even though it goes against what has been in other games before with the mentality of players today they will pick the interesting/cool/exciting evil side over the booring good side imo.

I still think we wont get a good idea of what is going to be popular until the beta comes out. So I'm reserving my vote until I can get a better idea of where all the little kids are gonna go..and then run like hell in the other direction.

new art is up, looks like Order has some stuff to compete with Chaos, like vapire hunter type guy:

MickeyFinn

I believe that's the Witch Hunter, an infiltrator-style class without the stealth. They build up power as they fight like a Vampiir in daoc, and unleash a reckoning as like one big killing stroke. Definitely not the type you want hitting a caster for very long.
On another note, they used my uncle as a model for this one:

This just in: After remembering Mazumi today, I've decided it's probably best to have two accounts from the start. I will have a counterpart with me when the game is released.
Whichever side has the shortest class.
There must be some kind of gnome or lurikeen or "little person" class in this game. I wanna be a shorty. :D
But, I will go where the lions go, even if it means I gotta be a smelly human. Letting WoW split us up was the worst mistake ever. I had a lot of fun with WoW, it is an amazing game, but the entire time I kept thinking how much better it would be with the whole lion crew.

Hmm, I might have to pick up this game when it comes out.
I don't care where we go as long as i get to play a race that is short, stealthy, and full of lions.
Yup yup.
Short. stealthy (or super damagy, glass-cannony), and liony.
Oh, one other mistake from WoW that I want to avoid. I gotta get in fast and reserve all possible alt names for Boom. In WoW I got "Boom" on the KT server, but then we moved to stormbeaver and it was taken and then we moved again to dragonblight and it was taken there too.
So this time we gotta pick a server early and stick to it, and I gotta preorder the game so the minute the servers are live I can reserve Boom, Booom, Booms, Boomy, Boomie, Boomsy, Bewm, Bewmy, Bewmsy.

Well IF all LOL's who are going to play War Hammer want to be on the same server together The officers will have to make the choice !!!!
If peep's don't like there choice there will be lots of other guilds out there for those people.
The rest of us I am sure will have a Ball laffing at Figgy AF'n on Mobs Booms answering all my ???'s for the 1st 3 months , Mo and Dape Hammer and Jammer trying to figure out the next Bar we will all meet at ect ....
Aasimon making Irish Car bombs "Cheers and Beers "
The scene of Humor online and off is what I miss most of LOL's being split in DAOC and WOW and I hope that War Hammer can Unite most of us for FUN ....

Fianna is doing this, most likely on Destruction, and we'll pick an Order alt server as well:
How about
"First normal server (non-RP, PVP, etc) that begins with the letter B on opening day. If there is no letter B, then S."
I'd love to see some of my favorite Pell guilds play on the same server come release. ;)

Mostly just a lurker here on the boards, Hi to all who actually know me :).
I plan to tag along with the Lions and will be dragging about 6 others with me whether they like it or not hehe...
Unfortunately I haven't been able to play DAoC for sometime now and its getting a bit stagnant piddling around on my hubbys WoW account. Hope to come back after the holidays for some fun though :) Needless to say it will be nice to see some familiar names/faces in a strange new world whichever they decide to land in.
I Hope to be welcomed to join in with you guys while we all learn, xp grind and accidentally (or on purpose for some) gimp our specs.
Take Care All :)
